Lan bandwith limiter

So, im just looking if anybody knows of a program that can limit the bandwith to certain computers in the LAN. Tho, there are only 2 computers in the network.

Certain routers can do this but they'll probably be expensive. You could stick a *nix box between them and the internet to do it.

set one of your computers as a router and limit bandwidth per IP in that way. There is no trivial way to do it really.

There is software that runs as a client on the controlling pc which needs a simple service to be installed on all 'controlled' machines. It works reasonably well as I used to use it when I flat shared.

I can't remember the name of it but I'll have a hunt and post it when I'm back from work.
