The R34 is probably the ugliest of the 3 main skylines you all know about.

What does that mean - like excluding the 70's model etc?

annnnnnnd the most hideous front alloys of the year award goes too....

Its a development mule. Don't really see Porsche putting the Cayman on sale with 80's throwback BBS alloys tbh...

Can't believe we've had 11+ pages of supercars and no-one's brought this up yet. It was the first production car to crack 200mph and remains my favourite supercar of all time.

Still Ferrari's finest hour imo.

Looks more like a toy, than a car you would drive.

Perhaps cos just about every toy supercar since it came out has been a Ferrari F40. I had about 4 of them when I were a wee nipper.

I don't think there's a ferrari or a lambo I like, there's an old masserati that I like but cars of that ilk I don't really get. I'm a new driver so there's no chance or even point in me getting a fast car so it's all a moot point. :D

I'd sell a few body parts for an Aston or a TVR though. :)

You don't like the 360???

Ugly. Gallardo's better looking. 430's an improvement though, but Astons are the best looking of all. And here we go again :)

(NB. Take a look in this week's Autocar at the artists impression of the new Esprit...Oh mama).

TBH - the 430 looks almost identical to the 360, but both are gorgeous machines. You're right about the Astons though, Vanquish-S is quite possibly the most attractive car ever made.

Right looked at the cars mentioned.

the gallardo is pish. :p

The 360, from what I've seen, is ok. I googled a few pictures and my impression is that the side view looks good but all the rest make it look fairly average.

The 430 looks better, imho, there's a picture of the back which looks mighty nice and there's a picture of the front at an angle that also looks good. but the picture from straight on looks really dodgy.

So I take it back the only ferrari I like is the 430. :D

360 430

Seperated at birth?

It's all in the details; the 360 has lots of unresolved lines and the front end dual radiator intake thing is badly done as are the headlights (gives it a sort of shovel nose - too wide and flat), the 430 has fixed this with a more chiselled light treatment (nicked from the enzo) and a much better rear end - once again taken from the enzo. Its just tightened up all round which makes it work better - the angle in the two pics in your link is about the worst angle to show it though; take a look from the rear three-quarters and you'll see it straightaway.

Oh no, it's only the epitome of the eighties in car design...

You say that like its a good thing. Not a great decade for car design (tbfh); and by that I mean styling rather than progress in power/handling etc. (The late eighties/early nineties was the zenith of hot hatch design, but was certainly not a time for good looking sportscars).

*edit* ...and after the sublime looks of the 308/328 and the 512BB, the Testarossa was just fucking hideous.

Have you heard of a car from the early nineties called a McLaren F1? :p

wtf...

That's the exact mid-nineties, but obviously,[stats pedant] its early 90s =1990-spring 1993, mid 90s = spring 1993-autumn 1996, late 90s =autumn 1996-end 1999[/stats pedant], making the McLaren F1 a mid-nineties car, omg, ffs etc. etc. :p

Who cares when the Macca came out? It's not like it looks anywhere near as sexy as the F40. May be a technically better car, I'd take the Fezza over it any day of the week. It just looks so much rawer.

Oh and the Testarossa? Puhlease......it was a wide vulgar beast. It looked mint at the time but it has dated horribly, much like the Countach.

signed up for the mailing list the other day. Really thinking about getting one of these; problem is, I want to see one in the metal (it looks a bit odd from some angles, absolutely gorgeous from others), and if I do that I'll probably have to wait until next year as there's bound to be a waiting list.

There is a DB9 Parked right outside my house as i type this.

It must be one of the overpaid london wanker (banker) sorts that buy the houses down here as weekend retreats. As the car only turns up thursday-sunday.

Mind you it is RIGHT outside my house. So i'm off to pretend to finish washing it or something.

After spending a while nearby all 3 of the main recent skylines I would now have to say the R33 GT-R is the ugliest of the three main skylines... The R34 looks a little odd in photos though.

F40's are quality, my favourite Ferrari most definitely.
