Just a few questions really.
Spent my first session in the lair today which wasn't too good.
Spoke to listholder and got put on (told him level to check) and waited 6ish hours. Eventually made the group. 30 minutes later group dissolved as people left and a handful of us were left and no one seemed too keen on getting it going again. So I logged for dinner. Came back on and there were a few people on the hill waiting (some on the list for the dissolved group who weren't too happy for not being informed it hadn't existed for 2 hours...)
Anyway there was a new list holder so I spoke to him and gave my rank and LvL (thane 42) and was immediately told noone of lvl 42 was allowed in lair groups.
Now what I want to know is this. Was I being BS'd or was he serious. I know plenty of lvl 40-42 people who have been in lair groups, in fact I was reccomended to come by a couple of them. At lvl 42 I hit hard enough to take aggro from a lvl 48 zerk.
I was reasonably close to just calling it a day with Daoc because of today. I spent nearly 8 hours of game time with my character logged on the hill for half a pip of experience and 4ish gold only to be told I might as well suicide as I wasn't supposed to be there.
In the end I lost money and had little over 1/4 of a pip gained for 8ish hours ingame which is my official slow record.
What was I doing wrong, why did one person invite me and another tell me to forget it. Do I need friends in high places to get in a group pre lvl 43 or what?
The most annoying thing was just before I suicided out there were apparantly 12 people on list discussing forming a new group and they all just ignored me. Which was nice.
Suffice to say I have been in a pissed off mood all day and doubt I will be going back to malmo as although the xp was quick when it lasted the general attitude sucked and it was a waste of time all told. Unless I bring my own groups there to xp.
