It is not as amazing as you are making out, it is very good but i much prefered the likes of platoon, letters from iwo jima, saving private ryan etc...

apocolypse now was good and had more memorable lines along with full metal jacket (to a lesser extent) but i still prefer the above

Honestly Apocalypse ain't THAT great. It's actuall quite crap for a war movie and i don't know why people praise it.

You go see a war movie and you expect ratatatboom and other such noises as well, with Apocalypse you get some warhumor, and then a bald guy in a buddhatemple talking about shrooms and how he's a god.

It's actually quite boring at times.

in you're opinion, just as i found apocalypse now boring at times and a very dragged out movie

Platoon on the other hand had me fairly interested all the way through

If you want to judge it as a work of art apocalypse now ticks all the boxes, if you want to judge it on entertainment platoon is in no way crap in comparison in fact it is better (imo)
