Hi folks! I have need - I use my own PC and work laptop on the same desk with a shared KB, Mouse, Monitor and also USB wireless headset. I currently have this:

However, the USB port for the headset USB stick is terribly loose and causing me regular issues (ie it's fucking pissing me right orff!).

Do any of you have recommendations for solid brands to use, or even for my specific use case?

Thanks and love to you all!! xxx

Not something I use unfortunately Jup. I tend to go with UGreen bits these days. Looks like they do something but zero idea if it would be any good for you.

I think I used a KVM for a month once in the late 90s, one of those Belkin things and have no experience since, so I'm not going to be able to help at all ;)

Thanks chaps - my main concern has been quality given the simple usb port issues on the old one - Ugreen kit does seem to be well-liked so I'm checking what they can offer.

I've used quite a few different Aten KVMs, the one I'm using at the moment is just for sharing USB so it's not appropriate but I remember using a DisplayPort one from them a while back.

Tbh if it's just for what you want have you looked at laptop docks? Assuming a capable laptop (I don't know if it needs ThunderGaybolt but it's better) you just plug a single cable into the laptop and use the desktop keyboard/mouse/monitor with it. Might not be as dynamic as a simple switch but they look like they've come a long way (and this video is 4 years old)...

Also it might not be suitable but since about a long time ago I've used a software solution like InputDirector (that one's Windows-only but there are others). It's not quite the same because you'd still be using the laptop screen - you move the mouse to the side of the PC desktop and it magically jumps across to the laptop, which you then control.

Thanks Cal - the requirement has now come down to a decent USB sharer as I have decided to use 2x HDMI cables in my monitor and switch inputs (gets rid of the frequency challenge). Inputs for the USB would be my wireless mouse and KB, plus a wireless headset. Output is similarly 2 x USB (PC then laptop). I'll have a look at ATEN if you are happy with yours? Oh, also, software solutions are no use because the company laptop is locked down...

I've got the US434 which can share 4 devices across 4 systems, if you only need 2 systems you could look at the US234.
