A great dungeon this, massive layout and nice drops. Tons of BAF mobs all the way down to the Herald. Well worth getting a group or two and heading down, just watch out for those insane pops within seconds of you killing the last lot :) We took one full group managed to get all the way to the Herald and what we think was his boss who just out of range, we had no right to be there but good healing and twin PBT saved our ass till we got random pop and had 8 mobs on us :)

LOL me and a 50 wiz couldn't even get in :), about 10 - 20 yellow / blue con's aggro'd after we killed one of the guards surrounding thr entrance. I got in later with a minstrel in group too and we only made it cos we had speed :). Dungeon looks very nice, masses of mobs, some smiters very close to the top, makes Avalon look like a walk in the park :).

Had great fun there in a group of 5. With CC from Xorta and most of the mobs being crush weak (2 friars in group) - we made it right through to a boss (not sure if it was THE boss).

Got loads of unique, mainly thrust weapon drops. However we eventually decided to take on the boss and got severly owned by him and his gang of AE nuking friends. See below a picture of me about to pull him =P

Also had to take this pic of a hallway we passed through on the way...

I doubt its the boss since there are some red cons there. The part we were in all were purp.

Yup Doc is right, we got to the Herald who is the last mob before the dungoen boss if my memory serves me right. Everything where we got to was very deep purple and I would estimate in the level65 region.

Ogre's might quest have the last step uber mob in that cave.

lvl 99 mob ;D

ogre_quest_ubermob.jpg

FYI:

- EVERY ORB = 10 lvls of the uber mob in middle, soo kill orbs first = middle mob = lvl 59

-You need around 40 guys too do it, AND ONLY the main aggro group will have the quest/items(all other groups dont get the last step of quest). its a bugg , not yet fixed(not in us either...)

-THE uber mob will drop as any epic mob, etc ITS FARMABLE.

-ORBS WILL RESPAWN

(you were at some other high named mob thou ;))

SotL did that with 3fg's

but they gave up after the repops of the orbs, cos the mob regained health back to 100% :|

Healing mobs :( If at first you don't suceed, try try again. How far down did you guys get the boss and how many groups do you think it would take to keep the orb pops under control whilst killing the main one?

It was great fun down in Krondon. A group can have hours of fun in there and get some nice drops too. We had a level 39 minstrel with us and the exp for her was incredible (right Ziera?:) ). I can honestly say that it was the most fun in DAoC Ive had for months.

With the insane number of mobs down there, dual PBT is really helpful.

oo yes! My little minstrel whom I had never expected to see the other side of 40 got almost a full lvl on that trip :D

It is an amazing dungeon and I am really looking forward to another visit there. I can imagine the pulls Ziera can make in there <drools>

Just so you know - the fellow with the orbs...

he's not THE boss... he's _a_ boss as well :)

there's a few around..

THE boss is Orylee the ogre queen.... and she's a little bit on the tough side.

The little krondon experience was one of the best raids I've been on in the daoc-history. After a few problems getting started it was just great to walk around there a bit.

The level 99 guy seemed impossible to me as when we were just starting to hurt the first ring lots of us were deaded in a few seconds. But we manage to down all 4 rings in about an hour or so (very rough estimate). As we then tanked the boss mob to say...50% a ring repopped, making him untouchable.

If the main problem is time, we could just throw in another fg and should be able to do it before another ring pops. But just maybe there is an ultimate secret that gives the key to the problem!

tip

if you want to get past the entrance mobs, go harvest Orcs for a while - they will give you good faction with the mobs around Krondon entrance.

fixed in next patch apparently ...

Fighting the ogres to reach the bosses is half the fun, amazing exp for lower levels and a much much harder challenge than Darkness Falls. Personally I just love the place and that combinded with Caer Sidi may persuade me to stick with this game for a while longer. The new dungeons are well though out and challenging even for large numbers, hell Caer Sidi is just awesome with all those level 70+ nasties and superb visuals.
