If any of you guys are cricket supporters, just wondering what you guys think of Kevin Pietersen?? Just scored 152 against South Africa, but seems to have an inability to get good scores all the time, often getting out for less than 20.

Is it just me or does he at times seem a bit inconsistent?

His average is back over 50 for the first time since 2007, and anyone who averages over 50 in Test Cricket is class no matter what. He's had a tough time of it since hitting that 220 odd against the West Indies last summer back his innings yesterday/today show exactly what he's capable of.

if you want inconsistency you just have to look in the direction of Ian Bell. An average of 41 for someone of his ability isn't good enough. He's hit a century in this innings so you can gurantee he'll get no more than 5 in the second. What he has done though is prove he can bat under pressure because England were under the cosh when he came in yesterday. People will say it was KP was there, but i didn't see KP with 30 runs off 18 balls.

yes very true, when he's in the mood he can play exceptionally well. Which is of course why he's one of the best batters in the world. You just gotta hope thats the KP which comes out of the pavilion everytime he comes into bat.

Yeah Bell can bat under pressure, especially in the anchoring role, when paired with an aggressive player like KP. Lol Collingwood now out, he's lost soo much form recently. He definitely needs to go back to County Cricket for a while and just get some time on the crease!

Collingwood needs to fuck off full stop. There's no selection issue when Flintoff is fit - Collingwood out, flintoff in.

Well I think it depends on if Flintoff is fit and can bat properly again. If he can bat as well as bowl(pretty sure he's got to the right level of bowling now) then damn rite get him back in the side asap. But at present I dont think his batting is strong enough to put him in at the line-up at no.6 if he's just wanted for the bowling shove him in at no.8 and replace broad or even Jimmy A.

Also don't forget Mr Jones he's a nippy little fucker with the ability to swing the ball both ways. When he's fully fit he's a vicious bowler who took many an aussie scalp.

Take Ambrose out and bring Prior back, bat Prior at 6, Flintoff at 7. As for Jones, he should be back in the side asap, probably at the expense of Jimmy A - not a lot of point in perservering there imo. The odd day of good bowling per series ain't good enough.

I totally agree with you about Ambrose, he's just not good enough with the bat or the gloves to be in the test side, especially when there are far better wickies in the county sides. Like you said Prior is prime to come back in and fingers crossed thats what will happen for the Headingley test!!

Yeah Flintoff at 7 could do, especially as he'll b playing primarily as a bowler in the four-man bowling attack. I think Jone definitely needs to come in asap, he is to my knowledge fitter and done more county stuff recently than Freddi, but the media seems to be obsessed with Flintoff. Again i agree with you that Anderson has to come out, altho he takes wickets its a high cost. He has the best average for the NZ series, but when it comes to the big boys hes far too expensive

Hahaha, yeah reached his highest test score ever!! Bloody legend, fingers crossed he'll get his double-ton!!

On another note:Broad is a fair player with the bat, if they stupidly stick with Ambrose again, I say they swap them over so Broad plays at No.7 and Ambrose at No.8

Swap flintoff with Collingwood.

Stick Broad at 6 and Flintoff at 8.

Broad is currently averaging 40, which is good enough tbh for a number 6 all rounder. If flintoff manages to get some decent runs, all the better.

Unlucky Bell, but still 199 bloody brilliant. Lets hope we can get a few early wickets and threaten them with the follow on.

Broad is still young and learning at the moment. I can definitely see him playing at 6 in the future, but could he deal with it at the current moment in time. When your at 6 ur often seen as one of the last main stream batsmen. Could he handle the pressure?

But yeah start off with Flintoff with 8 and if he can get up to a decent batting standard move him up to 7 possibly. With Jones at 9 and the Monster at 10

lol, I'm wondering does the last word in that post refer to the fact that you may have been drinking :p

But yes un-bell-ivable, its jst a pity he wasn't able to get his double-ton! Fingers crossed at Headingley he'll be able to manage that!
