Kobold Warrior

Well this may not be the smartest for a warrior, but I really wanted something different so I picked a Kobold. This is a project I made just for the fun of it, but I like her and think I will try to lvl her up.

Of all things I went for a hammer, because it is str-based and I have loads of it…haha. Base is str65 and con60. I really wanted a hammer for those plated albs in RvR and thought that it would be somewhat gimped for PvE, but against plate would be nice.

I have not decides were to go with it. Either high shield, high parry or something in between. A kobold Warrior will probably go inn as a backup tank, but if I spec high shield I think they may be the best shield users in Midgard, because of the high dex. On the other hand I can spec high parry use a 2H hammer and be a damage dealer. With the high qui and dex I will hit faster and miss less than a Troll, but I will for sure hit for less.

How about: Shield 50, Hammer 44, Parry 37, Thrown 5

I’m open for suggestions so please let me know what you think. She is currently lvl 9 and has no problem soloing yellows.

maybe stop at shield 42? you get slam at shield 42 at that's really the coolest style. there's no opening so it's great in rvr. bad thing is i hear it eats a good chunk of your endurance... and as a warrior having max spec in your weapon is good for doing the most amount of damage possible.

Have wep at your level, go with shield. Shield is very good, you'll block a lot of attacks (I do with mine and I'm a norse with lower dex). Group members will notice your shield more than a 2h as well ;) Put guard on the puller or main tank if you're not it. Engage is useful for RvR. As the main tank (which I don't see why you shouldn't be) a quicker 1h will be more useful for getting agro, and if you miss with a 2h you have a while to wait before you swing again :)
Kobold warriors aren't at all bad, and warriors aren't damage dealers anyway imo.

I think that Kobolds will probably make the best shield specced warrior. Your high dex will mean you block lots you will naturally parry and evade more. Not sure about this though.

By lvl50, I really don't think the race you picked at lvl1 has much (if any) effect on your char.

One note of caution tho, I tried a hammer specced Kobold shield warrior, and you do not get a taunt until you have specced 14 into hammer. This means it may be hard to hold aggro until you recieve this style.

by lvl 15 then ;)

(14 weap 14 shield and 16 point to put in shield ;))

got a troll warrior and i block decently good (given the horrible dex :)) its at lvl 41 and im thinking on restarting with a kobb warrior .. but the pain of lvl ing a warrior again .. GAH!

But if its yer first warrior its kinda fun..

For me being used to play a SB this little smurf rocks. I haven’t played much this weekend, but I got him up to lvl 12. I soloed one yellow, one blue and one green hill cat with more than 25%+ hp left. Taking down yellow mobs is easy, ending up with 90%+ hp most of the time. The amount of parry, shield and misses are really nice.

My spec at lvl 12 is: ha12+2, sh10, pa4

Kobbie warriors

I got one of them as well, also speccing shield and I was quite happily soloing yellows at lvl 5 with only the 1x points put into sword to get 2 styles.

And she's cute too ;)

Tip from an armsman: If u do shield stop at 42.. as someone alrdy said in this thread. Do not (as someone stated here aswell) bring shield 2 50 that will be alot of points wasted. Better to put those in parry

FFS dont stop shield at 42, 50 lvl shield style is much better than slam - it costs nothing and starts off block (reactionary styles do more dmg than anytime styles). 28 parry imo is more than enough, there are lots of +parry items and you will easily bring it close to 40.
imho 50/50/28 is the best setup for warrior

mmh anubis kinda not agree. But i must admit i never used the 50 style.

One thing i think that speaks for stopping at 42 is that blocking in RvR is a rarity. So the points taking shield from 42 to 50 for a style u will almost never be able to use is kind of a wast imho.

Suggestion: u might safe the points for taking shield from 42 to 50 and judge by ur own experience if it is worth it Runolas

Goodluck with ur bold (;) ) move.

Hehe, I have made a kobie warrior too, lvl 14 (Araknis) at the moment, put 10 points in str, char, quick, i think it was.

And he is fun to play with, easy solo some orange, i block/parry maybe 50% and more in a normal fight, I use swords for the looks, and equal shield/parry atm.

Final template is 50 sword/ 42 shield/ 39 parry

Another thing, in RvR i have with my kobie hunter been getiing less attention then many Norseman/trolss so I have a feeling i will have a pseudo-stealth too ;)

I hope you made a typo, and ment CON not CHA..... CHA is pretty useless to a warrior.. =)
