Out of all races kobolds make the worst skalds. They got higher dex & qui, but first of all dex isn't an important stat for skalds, since they get no skills which are affected by dex (or at least not a decent level in that skill). Maybe the higher qui will make you swing a tiny bit faster, but that doesn't make up with the loss of str & hp by far. You say you are going 1-handed, which is pretty useless as a skald too. You'll hardly ever block with your non-trainable small shield skills, while your damage output will be a lot lower than with a 2h weapon. Best options imo are:
- Make a troll and put 15 in con and 10 in char.
- Make a dorf and put 15 in str and 10 in char.
- Make a norse and put 10 in str, 10 in con and 10 in charisma.
- Make a troll and put 15 in con and 10 in char.

It's not the lower dmg my dds do that bothers me tho, but they get resisted a whole damned lot lately. Strange, compared with other characters I play, I have to say that skald spells get resisted like 30% more than other classes...
Skalds could get some attention tho, since their speccing options are very limited and all they got since patch 1 are some crappy resist chants, all separate even. It wouldn't hurt to allow them to use medium shields for example, but only trainable up til like level/2 or so. Would give us atleast an alternative speccing option. The only thing we have to think about when speccing atm is to which level to raise weapon spec.
