kobbie cast speed.

Im wondering what would a kobbie need to cap cast speed in aug dex, including shammy buffs with 25% buff bonus.

Well, depends what casttime of spell is :D. Your question can't be answered without knowing your dex stat and what spell we are talking about.

I too heard of 40% delve value being cap. Additionally you can never cast a spell faster than 1.5s. Never tested this, but seems to make sense.

In theory (from what I've read) 10 pts increase in dex ~ 1% cs below 250, takes 20 pts to raise castspeed by 1% past 250. This should make you able to calculate yourself.


With free RA respecs from NF, I've actually decided to test if the above numbers for dex and castspeed gains actually seems to check out. Havent tested extensively, but initial results lean toward double the gain per dexpoint spent above 250. I.e roughly 1% per 10 pts of dex. However I wont draw any conclusions yet.

atm i have 394dex and 10% casting speed.. im not sure, but i think spd is capped atm..

gonna try dex5 out and see :clap:

thx for replies, im going to stick with aug dex3 atm i have tried dex4 and dex3 and cant see any difference in my casting, i might go for dex4 later when 10 points isnt as much needed.

If I'm not mistaken, you'd end up on 398 dex with +18 dex on creation, +26 dex cap and aug dex5.

Using what casttime spells ? 3s ? 4s ?

Stating that you've capped castspeed makes no sense really, unless we are talking about one spell in particular.

According to my testing, a dex of 394 with 10% Toa bonus would make you cast a 3s spell in ~1.56s. As you said this is actually pretty close to cap since you can NEVER cast a spell faster than 1.5s. However the gap between cap and actual casttime will increase if you use slower spells.

you are mistaken - that gives 415dex.
look up the new values for aug dex...

A kobbie runie would have a maximum of :

lvl 50 base - 93 dex
start pts - 18 dex
Base buff - 62 dex
Spec buff - 93 dex
Item bonus - 101 dex (including 26 dexcap)
AD5 - 48 dex
___________
415 total.


Hence 394 is very possible :)

There is no other cap apart from the 40% delve. a 2s spell will cast in 0.8s with enough dex.

i.e. linear improvement with dex, no 'step' at 250 or any other value. 0.167% per dex.


To answer the original question.... 404dex with 10% ToA should reach cap... 430dex with 0% ToA.
But you probably won't feel much difference over 380/390 (aug dex3/4 if you have a nice 100dex ToA suit).

I have 384 dex with my kobbi and 10% castspeed .. thats with aug dex4 .. no dex at creation :p old old char ^^ according to catacombs .. qui was needed :p ... ANYWAY .. didnt notice much difference when I took dex5 .. so I think 384+10%castspeed is pretty much capped .. not 100% capped .. but not much diff. also :p

there has been tests made showing that there is no such thing as a 40% castspeed cap, I cannot find them though :(
