Can you blame people for camping Yggdra?

It's easy to get to, lots of Mids around , no guards to worry about and excellent cover with all the trees etc...

It's perfect for stealthers and you can easily rack up realm points there. It takes about 10 minutes before the big boys get together and hunt us out.

Low level Hibs and Albs can get a good taste of RvR fighting against people their own level.....

Besides, after getting ganked for the 12th time by an army of purple con Trolls, it's fun to all go to Yggdra and take it out on people your own level.

I can imagine that the good experience you get there as well as the risk of running into enemy players will keep you Mids hunting that region.

We'll always be there, even when you don't see any Hibs or Albs about, we have stealthers waiting for you to get seperated from your group.

Just be a little more careful when you hunt, something I think everybody who has raided Yggdra knows is that you Mids tend to be concentrating on something other than your surrounding terrain. I can't remember the amount of times I've just ran past entire groups and you haven't seen me.

The day before that a ton of purple middies wiped out a small group of us and stood by the bodies - I wandered up, danced, saluted, waved and they were lovely - very friendly. I tried to rez and they killed me. Rightly so imo. I Kill medics first in wolfenstein and I would always target medics first in rvr - kill the medics and the fighters will fall.

As regards the whole exp thing. Someone gave me an exp death the other day. it was frustrating and annoyed me a little bit - as I thought he might have waited til I had at least killed what was attacking me. I wont name the ALB in question (huh! some truce!) but I will remember his name. I will find him one day, when I am lvl 50 and then I will set me pet on him, root him and poison him and that will be it - I see no need to complain about him here, I wouldnt exp kill myself if possible (simply cos I dont liks suffering that fate and I dont want to make other suffer it) I will however do my utmost to take down any middy I see anywhere near our realm. IF they con purple to me I will hide and announce their loc to any high levels in Hibernia by send

Truce??

That's another good point! What the hell is this truce thing with Albion all about?

Without naming names, I will tell you about my guild mate who, while on his way out of his Portal Keep he managed to catch sight of a waiting Albion. Now what other reason would an Albion have to be waiting around the Hibernian Portal Keep other than to kill any people coming out?

My friend managed to kill this obvious PK camper and in my opinion, rightly so.

Now can anyone please tell me why the hell my friend then got insulted and....well the only words are 'told off' by a select few of his fellow Hibernians????

This truce is in place, I suppose, to stop Mid from being so damn strong. (Good job so far .)

I can't seem to remember, all you Hibernians that insulted my guild mate, going up to him and asking whether or not he wanted to be in this truce.

I bought this game and so did everyone else, if we want to kill Albions, well, we're gonna do it.

Personally, I don't kill Albion enemy players unless they are camping our PK........and when I do, I don't expect insults for killing an enemy trying to catch lower cons coming out of PK.

A truce agreed on an unofficial bulletin board is unofficial - and there were 8 purple (god I hate that word!) albs camping ligen the other night - we took em out (2 patrols of 8) and left one of them hidden as we went onto midgard.

That isnt a truce imo. TBH I am not so sure a truce is within the spirit of the game either. I am not gonna try and tell ppl how to play the game - if they want a truce fine. Me if I see an albion that I can kill ganking (I love that word) lower level hibs I am gonna give them a taste of my Firby druid powah!!

Exactly my opinion. Events such as the battle at Odins Gate between Albion and Hibernia was cool. Both realms agreed to fight Mids first and then get back to killing each other.

That kind of truce is fine, it makes it more fun for everybody.

But what do you expect us to do if we see Albion campers trying to kill our own? Just walk past?

Blah along the way we've gathered alot of flame baiters, that wasn't the intension of the thread...

Simply I wanted to know who are known xp killers, not what your damn opinion is... All other comments other than incidents and names of individuals are irrelevant.

We have people playing by different rules and by various codes, I wanted to know who partakes in this tactic so I can reply in kind. I don't want to kill anyone who doesn't Xp kill others like that, but say If I find anyone who does (phoenixx or anyone else named or known) then obiously they condone suck tactics and think all is fair.

If you think this tactic is ok, so be it... move along. celebus you obiously think this is ok, and thats fair... I know theres people who would disagree and this post is for those.

The fact that you have been met with hostility from nearly every post and nobody as yet has named any names, I think you can pretty much work out that nobody is interested in this witch hunt.

Best thing you can do is try to delete the word Pheonixx from all your above posts and realise that nobody wants to name names.

The reason you have picked up flamers is because you choose to write about a topic that would have been a good one to discuss. Unfortunatly you decided to start by naming people. Bad move my friend.

I still can't believe you are making such a big deal about honour though. If you don't like playing a game where you meet other players who want to kill you, go play a console game.

I don't know if this is your first MMORPG or not but I can tell you that if you where in a game like UO, you'd get killed a thousand more times and lose more than a few golds worth of constitution.

Hi guys, the other day I was hunting in Yggdra and it just so happened I was spotted by an enemy player. Now I don't want to start naming names because I'm not petty. I was just wondering what you guys thought about this and is this the kind of behavior I should prepare myself for next time I'm in Yggdra?

I accept it was always a possibility that I would encounter enemy players while hunting in the Frontier so I am not bitter, I just wish to find out peoples opinions on this subject.....

I'll tell you why I am hostile to such a simple post, it starts by making wild accusations about players you don't know.

You yourself said this, yet you then go and tell everybody who argues with you that their posts are irrelevant and they are getting all hot and bothered.

I make long posts for two reasons, one, they get me out of the drudgery of work for a few minutes and two, your posts have many holes in them and they need to be picked apart before more innocent people are named for doing something that is totally within the rules.

i was ganked sooo much in snowdonia ( i was lvling there before the new patrols went in, and it was the only place with decent items before 1.45), but instead of whining, i got some lvls and settled it in emain.

having *codes* is all fine and dandy, but the only rule that actually counts is kill or be killed. the sooner everyone realises this, the better for all.

I didn’t want a debate on the ethics of killing people while engaged in combat; the posts after have bought about hostility, my own original post simply asked for the names of people who take part in the above mentioned tactic.

Yes yet again I will say outlands are bad kill or be killed places, that’s besides the point and part of the game.

What’s your problem with having people name those who Xp kill?

Like you said its part of the game, all it will do is allow me to choose how I fight my enemy, I’d prefer to not XP kill, but if I see a know Xp killer then it’s time to play their way (hence why I ask for names).

I’m fed up with people jumping in with comments like “don’t be there if you can’t handle it” cos I can, I kill and get killed and enjoy every second of the combat. I’m not telling anyone how to play… If anything I want to know how they play. From personal experience I hate being XP killed and won’t inflict the same agro onto those who play how I know some do.

First RvR death, was enki. i remember it. 8 ppl group, around 20-sih xp-ing in Snowdonia. we are just about recovered from rest, when Enki shows up on the hill. Purp con to all of us (we were prolly green to him, tho. a loooong time ago )
We get up, ready to defend ourselves from this Hoodlum, when he attacks. Quicly takes out 1 wizard, and a healer, moving on to our main tank. He feels confident, we knew.

But then, all of a sudden, a few debuffs worked, and he was taking damage galore... we got him to about 10% health, when i finally died, last man standing..

I think he was afraid too
(at least for a split second)

When I first started playing DAoC I came a cross a frog who exp killed me. Then I think a badger got me.

It's just my opinion that this thread was a good idea but started badly. As I keep saying, you have been flamed by most people here for moaning about getting killed by an enemy player.

Naming people in this manner is irresponsible, it's not fair and has been met with criticism.

There's no flame war here, most of us are trying to have a conversation about naming exp killers in the Frontier. I just take offence to people who try to get my fellow realm mates on everybodies hit list.

You may say you want to know about these people for your own personal benefit but this isn't the way to do it. Just write down who exp kills you, add me to the list and level up to 50, then hunt us down like the 'dishonourable' pigs we all are.........

Face it, bugger, nobody likes that sort of behavior. Cerebus made a very valid point, asking politely about the subject (even though handled a thousand times before) will get you polite answers. I can hardly see even those of the thickest layers of bone in their cranial area to flame a "Could I have a nice li'l cup of team, Mr Simmons?" But when you bring up naming people you don't know (yes, you still don't know Phoenixx, unless the social interaction between you and your fellow man is done with axes and sorcery on a regular basis) for something nobody really considers an attrosity anymore, you will get flamed. Trust that little fact.
