Clothes that make you feel good about yourself...

Well chaps and chapesses what item of clothing do you put on or make up do you wear to release those feel good about yourself chemicals... You know the ones I mean.. The ones which make you flex in the mirror (yes boys we know you do this) or pat your arse etc

For me it is shoes and boots, specifically at the moment a pair of nine wests I am wearing today... (horribly conflicting if you read naked thread)

My suit jackets! It's when I put on one of my suit jackets (which is usually the last item to go on in the morning) and run my fingers down the hand-stitched lapel to make sure it looks pretty in the mirror!

my current fave hooded sweater (yes kids, they don't have the stigmata attached elsewhere that they have in the UK)

and my oldest jacket. I have an extremely old faded Carhart jacket, and it's my fave evar!

I can honestly say that I don't feel like this about clothes, at all. I'm not overly concerned with how I look - in fact I really don't give a f*ck.

Not saying I look bad (I'm informed that I don't) - but I get no self-esteem from what I buy.

I look at men who obviously take a lot of care over what clothes they wear and the way they look, hair etc. I've got a few friends who can happily spend £150 on a shirt, £200 on shoes, have fuckloads of "products" and they've all got one thing in common - low self esteem.

I'd rather look a bit scruffy and blow my wad on travelling :)

My cloak.

When I worked at the BBC one of our devs used to come to work every day wearing a cloak, and even occasionally carried a silver-topped cane. He was a complete knob of course, but a brave one.

I love my old brown Deftones t-shirt with holes in the armpits and also my ancient Faith no More t-shirt that my mum found on a beach about 15 years ago.
