cba to explain it so i'll let wikipedia do the work!
Kenny vs. Spenny is a
Canadian comedy reality television series about two best friends[1, Kenny Hotz and Spencer Rice, who face each other in various competitions. The loser of the episode must perform an act of humiliation, usually selected by the winner.

Each episode is typically based on a statement which sets the goal of the competition in a "who is...?" or "who can?" style; occasionally a "first one to... loses" statement is used instead. Competitions sometimes take the familiar form of performing a task the best, such as catching the largest fish; but they are more often unusual tasks, such as who can be tied to a goat the longest. The other typical style of competition is endurance to see who can do or abstain from something the longest.

They have such contrasting personalities and do such fun challenges that fun ensues :p

It's clearly "faked" in a show style, but if you're going that route, make it either good or leave it out.

I was looking for a funny/interesting competition, yet it was so badly acted at parts, not a "real" competition as such and nothing...well...mythbuster'esque about it.

You know?

But it's a canadian format and they do have the french style "over-kill" funnies in them.

Maybe it would need more watching, but based on that, what with the caveman outfits and clear re-cuts...not impressed.

well they have artist direction and they both go all out to win and spend cash but the challenges they do , they do for real, spenny even gets arrested in one episode:p

I watched a few episodes of this a few years ago, and i wasn't overly impressed either.. but there was one bit i did love, and that was when they were competing with bands.

I think the setup was each of them was supposed to form a band and perform a song or some such. One of them went "I'm going to use children, and make a song about how we must always care and look out for the children" and i just laughed when they performed it! I can't remember how it ended but.. there was just something lovely and cynical about the whole thing and how pissed off the other guy was for having been "cheated" with such a trick!

Other than that, those two guys strike me as mildly annoying. :p

Aye, it's the extra "canadian" bits that kind of puts me off.

the idea and premise of the show is excellent, simple and entertaining, but the production is a bit...off-putting.

Though i blame the french influence for it :D

Been a lil addicted to this program such this thread...great stuff :D Yes I like juvenile humour, no I don't care if it's scripted or not; stand up comics has scripts too but I still find them funny...

Interestingly, trey parker/matt stone joined them for production of the 4th series... didn't expect to read that.

Yeah but...those are funny. Like i said, if it's acted, act it good ;)

Think that's half of the point though, them just being a normal, if slightly dysfunctional group of friends (including their crew), not trained to do this sort of thing, just doing it because they thought it'd be fun. I'm not saying you should like it, nor could I see this being the next big thing (especially as it's already finished), it's just playing to a certain audience.

I was very suprised it has been on tele though, especially considering a lot of the episodes involved them doing at least something illegal.

I find kenny funny because he's quite juvenile in his humour and it is funny to see spennys reaction and I find spenny funny because he's just so misplaced in the whole show... he's completely guilible, takes it all way too seriously and just generally too innocent for his own good when paired with lets face it, a complete asshole in the majority of the episodes.

I don't mean to be presumtious about you Tohtori (or anyonelse here) I really don't but I've always been one for these types of low budget homemade humour... I can't think of an example of anything like this but (despite them being canadian) I could imagine English people liking this type of show more then people from other countries.
