The bearded wonder has finally gone.
A few years ago I worked with a dedicated Chelsea supporter, a season ticket holder too, it was during the years when Matthew Harding was helping Chelsea along and Ken Bates was being annoying as usual.
I always got the impression from him that Bates had outlived his generosity to Chelsea years ago, he seemed to think he was a god after rescuing them out of the brink of doom, and has been a thorn in the side of any investors since.
I also worked at a company owned by the then vice-chairman of Chelsea, we had out Christmas Partys at Stamford Bridge ! He didn't have much to say about Bates either !
