Keep doors at Beno

Middies went out to take the Beno keep from the albs..turned out to be difficult thing there..

Hard doors...no ram...incoming albs porting inside...etc...
Finally we got the ram..the first door when down atlast..
Startet on second door and got it down to 50% i think when suddenly the first door closed and was at 50% all of a sudden, and raising..

How is that possible???..have never seen a outer door get fixed from the inside..yust a question

The fight was cool enough..the albs fought very well..more and more mids got bored and left,,in the end the albs zerged us off..
Good work albies :)....but plz answer me how a outer door can almost be fully repaired from the inside when we are at the 2nd door bashing...

If you are in the room above the doors and select the nearest object (usally F7) you target the door and can repair it from there. It is kinda bug exploting though. I am guessing this is what the albs did (mids have done this before too)

I see..didnt know that was possible..THX :)

I guess that this bug will be fixed in the next patch...cuz its seem kinda silly that this is allowed...it makes the game look a bit silly..not to mention damn hard to take a keep..

Think you can target the doors from the battlements too when they are open(not sure), target them then move cloer and repair.

Then get someone to run out and close them, trapping mids inside

GOA have stated it's not bug abuse. Oh and you stand near the inner door not above. ;)

But u go up to battlements first right?,,to target the door I mean, then go down again to inner door to fix ?

You can't target a door from the battlements as the open inton the keep the only way possible is the f7 tactic. And GoA have stated its bug abuse after confirming it with Mythic. Who also agknowledged the abusive of this bug to be detrementle to keep raiding.

Outer keep door repairing

Greetings.

We have investigated this and it is not regarded as bug exploitation. Line of sight is not currently required for repairing objects and while we can hope this to change in the future, it is not currently considered a bug to rapair items not in line of sight.

First time I heard about this tactic I creased with laughter. I think Savage Conclave used it at Renaris or Eras. I don't know if they were the first to do it, probably someone on the US servers has tried it.

If GOA have stated its bug abuse well so be it.

The way to stop it happening to you is to have someone just keep hitting the outer door after it goes down. Spirit pets are handy for this since it doesn't prevent the main tanks from getting on with their job :)

I believe it´s quite a popular tactic of the mids at Bledmeer..

Get your army of Shadowblades to kill the crafter and you're rid of the problem.

I've yet to see it used at any other time than last night myself, and I've been in at least a few Bledmeer defences. If the above statement from Goa is correct though I guess we'll have to start using it more...

I dont think it was a planned tactic..just desperation to get doors fixed.

I believe Danyan was constantly trying to repair outer doors and carried on even after they were broke because Seeno was repairing the inner.

When we arrived there were only about 5 albs inside, 2 at least were dead and there was no rezzer. In my grp there was me as Vitex lvl 41 cleric and Daemon lvl 50. He unfortunately didnt make it inside. Our only course of action was to port out , rezz him and port back. This cos me my life and he was rezzed with about 5% HP. Luckily he made it inside with moments to spare, rezzed me and all was well. I think if this hadnt worked then the mids would have won ..cos another rezzer didnt arrive for some time.

Id like to say it was very exciting and fun rvr for me, thanks all involved. It was a very close thing all along.

Hehe.

To quote Sanya Thomas:

An exploit is NOT:
- standing inside a keep and having one’s pet nuke attackers using a nuke that doesn’t require LOS
- using GTAOE spells in a cheesy yet legal manner

I guess I'll have to start using my no-LOS nuking pet some more....

As if you weren't already. Been nuked lots of times by those. The bad thing is that our (sm's) pets can't always get through keep doors nowadays, think it was prevented in some patch (sometimes they can, sometimes they can't, I've yet to figure out what it depends upon...). So what did Mythic do? Nerfed the pets that need melee to do damage. The other pets with dd's were left untouched for several patches after. Oh well...

Yeah my pet kills "maybe" 1 enemy, this silly bug turns an entire keepraid and can be used by anyone, you really want this to be used a lot?

Did I say that I want it to be used a lot? No, I'm saying that I have to accept if it is, because Mythic and Goa isn't judging it as a cheat. Yes, I can come back here and whine about it but it won't do much good. The only thing positive would be that I could in that case blow off some steam, but all the people screaming "WANT SOME CHEESE WITH THAT WHINE???" after it would indeed negate that positive reaction pretty quick.

In fact albs used this tactic once again at Renaris this evening. Go Albion!!

Well once the outer went down I worked on the inner for a bit, but with the ram up there's not a lot you can do, so we tried to get the outer up, it was actually at 50% when bod ported out to close it, I then just carried on repairing it while a couple of others got the inner back up. Interestingly there were SBs about but not once was I attacked by one. :p

For someone with 2 level 50 characters im very surprised its taken you this long to have witnessed this particular door repairing tactic. Its a very very old trick used by all realms on Bled, Beno and DC due to the wood merchants.

Have a read of this and see Mids employing the same tactic at Renaris back in October. Its part of the game so live with it.

Ah, so now I have to start defending myself? Well, let me start off by quoting myself:
No, I'm saying that I have to accept if it is, because Mythic and Goa isn't judging it as a cheat.

Yes, I've got two l50's, but took a long break from RvR while leveling my sm from 30-50 or something. During that time I can't say I RvR'd much. I've still been in quite a few defences, and I still stand by what I said, I've never experienced it. The same goes for when I've been in an attack, never experienced it (up until the last few days). Does that mean that it hasn't happened? You'd have to be a fool to interprete it as that...

Didn't ask you to defend yourself ImLestat, I just quoted you to make it more obvious to the link I was trying to point out and to put your mind at ease. Did you read the link? Outer door repairs has been around for several months at least and since you appear to read these forums it comes as a further surprise that you have not witnessed it before (or at least heard of it).

The "Go Albion !!" was slightly inflammatory to my eyes especially since you aren't aware of the facts. Now that you are I hope this can be put to rest.

Ok exactly how is a sb ment to kill the guy repairing when all that will happen is he'll get mezzed stunned and nuked to death long before he kills the crafter. Please get real short of 20 odd blades.. where we had 3 theres no way in hell anyone can kill the crafter.

Well as the second door went down some SBs made an attempt on some people in the courtyard, it looked to my eyes at least like an attempt on repairers. Unfortunately for them there were about 10 people standing around which would have made it a bit hard to work out who was repairing, not to mention hard to kill anyone. :p

I remember that time.....stuck between 2 locked doors was not very nice when getting AoE'd.........damned ingenious though. :great:
