keep defence support class ?

When the need for alts arises ( like to always does) - can anyone advise..

Im on the battlements of a big keep. My plan is to fire down onto the on comming enemy. Shadow Warrior or Engineer ? Guess im looking for which class would be most like a scout/hunter in daoc

Also, are we likely to see "enginner" alts so say ahmm multiple enginners can accumulate in lords room/choke point & erect a small turret army - in the same vein/intention as the Animist in Daoc ?

any help appreciated, ive got a m8 who is interested in playing, i know his class types, I just dont know WAR !

I d be very surprised to not see turret armies (mechanical or daemonical) in lord room defense. Collision detection makes classic PBAEing more difficult and pets always work. If the lag problem does not get solved, aggressive pets will shine even brighter. Ask carrier pilots in eve online about it.

All lord defence will be pointless unless they nerf marauders first, having said that I think in the end tanks + BW/Sorcs and a few healers would do alot better than a couple of engineers/magus with stationairy pets.
The damage these pets dish out is low, very low and the first people to charge the lord are either tanks or packed with AoE knockdown/damage (hi marauders).
Also these turrets have always been the bane of keep defenses as they need to be in LoS of the enemy to work and when they are in LoS they are also in LoS for the enemy to AoE on them and rack in some kills on the closly packed bunch in the lord room.

This doesn't mean the Engineer aint a good keep defence class but far from the "best" atleast imo.

Magi should be able to effectively clear out any defence because of a couple of spells they get really late on (so long as they don't go easy-pet spec) and it won't matter how much healing or tanks are blocking the way.

Its the only thing thats keeping me going given how bad this guy is at lowbie RvR.
