you CANNOT beat soulseek for mp3's, well, you can - buy the original. Although the amount of uber rare stuff on there is fantastic.

I typed soul seek in google and got christian webbys:( after reading for a while and converting from satanism to being a fully paid up god fearer, I realised these had nowt to do with mp3s, any ideas when I can get soul seek from?I use audio galaxy at the minute which is pretty damn good apart from the spy ware it puts in your pc.

KaZaa Lite has removed the spyware but apparently still has adverts.

Don't people miss the point that the number one factor for filesharing programs is how popular they are?

More users = more files = more likely to find what you want.

I'v used things like Blubster & Soulseek for mp3s before but although they are nice to use, they're shit for finding stuff. I'll stick with audiogalaxy, thanks.

As for other software & stuff, I'm not sure. i used to use Kazaa but it's adverts and slowness pissed me off. I've yet to check out Morpheus, Bearshare, Gnutella, D/C, etc., but then again I don't download that much warez :p

Nah, everything's shared on there.

And no munkey, it means electronic music such as Aphex Twin and stuff, although as I just said, you'll find everything on there.

tbh its very easy to get around copyrighted songs if you want to on audiogalaxy, and it really is the daddy for the number of users, they have every song there :) what adware comes with it? and does ad-aware pick it up?

I still use Kazaa. Doesn't really take much to close the pop-ups. And I have no idea what spyware is, so it doesn't bother me. Tis a good place to get the latest TV eps aswell.

How on gods earth do you get around the copyrighted songs then chum? Counting Crows have done a Duran Duran song on AG and it won't let me get to it:( . I simply must hear it for some reason.

Either keep searching for a really similar title/artist combo, or if you still can't find anything then do this:

- Create an audiogalaxy group.
- Sign out of your username and create another user, and join the group under that one (you might need two email addresses for verification)
- Log out, and back in under your original account, and invite account2 into the group.
- Find the copyrighted song, and note the id number (right click the link, choose properties. It's the set of numbers at the end of the url)
- Paste the id number at the end of this url: "http://www.audiogalaxy.com/groups/sendSong.php?&g="
- Log out, and log back into your second account. The song should be queued for you.

I hardly ever find myself needing to do that though - the first option normally works fine :)

Agree about the Blubster comment, it's usually my first try cause it's verrrrry nice to use, but it doesn draw blanks sometimes. New version of WinMX (3.1) is very nice, proper multisourced downloading will be nice for those with broadband.

Did try Gnutella (Open Source Oasis client, and Xolox) but my 56k really doesn't like the network. Seems that if you can get Gnutella to go it's great, but it's bloody luck if you do or not.
