I work in a restaurant at a summer-camping site. Almost everyday as I sit here in the pub, pouring drinks now and then to the few local patrons who still bother coming since the prime season is over, I wonder why is it always when I'm one hour from closing when a small group enters and wants to sing karaoke.

I hate karaoke.

The person who invented it should be shot. In the face. There simply is nothing more horrible than a drunken elderly woman trying to emulate some young singer. It's God-awful.

It feels like running the marathon barefoot, reaching the final 100 yards when someone suddenly throws broken glass on the road.

It hurts.

Ofcourse you can argue that it's only a matter of my own vocational selection. As true as that is, it still doesn't ease the pain. There is only one cure: going to some other pub after my shift and act like the same kind of idiots I hate -- I am a hypocrite, I know.

Thank you for your time.

Yours,
GRN

thanks for getting that off your chest.

Now, if you are female and fit, can I see your chest to see if there were any removal marks

Replace the Karaoke machine with a Karate machine, like the one in The Karate Kid.

I love my job, and I'm good at it. The karaoke part is my only dislike and usually it's not even a part of my job at all.

It's just that there aren't that many employees here at the moment so I have to do all kinds of.. unpleasent things. :(

Replace the Karaoke machine with a Karate machine, like the one in The Karate Kid.

That's worth a thought!

I have a similar experience, only i actually live next door to a pub so i get it all ways.

Thursday-to-Sunday are the worst, some nights its just plain painful but you *kind of* get used to it...

You could always complain to the council about noise pollution.
They take that sort of thing quite seriously...

Does getting *kind of* used to mean you've started singing along?
