...you thought it was safe to go home...

I'm sat here at work, when 'ping' goes my laptop and I see a new email... great, something to read :)

I'm reading through, given I've just done a 12+ hour shift, and suddenly I see the company I am working for wants to expand the building we are in further. They have been for months now but never really worked hard to finish it. Anyway, finances are through and the buildings going to get finished in a month or so, great, more people to fight for a bacon sandwhich in the mornings. This email was from the CEO, this time explaining how we are going to get a cinema... a gym... and a Pub!? As I rub my eyes to check I'm reading this write, one of the other guys on shift run over almost crying with laughter. There is even a suggestions box on what we want in there. :eek7:

How awesome is that? reckon they could open it early for me to get a pint before bed?

Anyway, 2 more hours to go, then sleep... sleeeeeep

Hi Dreamor

What kind of company do you work for? :D

To be honest, I'd be a bit worried if that's how they're spending their money, but I guess make hay while the sun shines :)

Kind regards

Not at all uncommon really.

Business meetings, entertaining cashpockets, company drinknights, office parties etc.

It's really cheaper in the long run and ***** on the comany for doing so.

So, when's the "open doors" day at your firm? :D

Used to be common practice pre-80's. Worked in a few places with a bar and loads more places where the bar was shut when Thatcher turned the country into a bunch of people who think, incorrectly, that working really hard gets you something...

Lots of the top 10 law firms in london have their own restaurants, shops, dry cleaners, bars, gyms and pools built into their buildings. The more you can do at work, the less you need to leave the office.

Yeah, I've seen this when I was working at IBM but its no so frequent outside the big companies. Only 1 place IBM has now has a Bar, but a lot of them have shops/restaurants/dry cleaning services.

Happy workers are good workers,
You be happy with company, you be loyal to company, you be loyal to company you give that little bit extra when needed, this short term investment quickly becomes a really good long term investment. also with perks like these you'll be able to attract better headhunts.

it's a simple deal really

This is a spambot in waiting, of that I am sure expect random postings like the one above then WHAMMO!.........SPAM!.

hmm.. am I being called a spambot here ?
or am I missing something ?

It was a simple valid question, or do we suddenly have to needlessly extend our replies and questions as not to come off as such ?

I've been a member since Fh began, even as far back as barry's, and tbh I've been called many things, But a Spam bot isnt exactly one off them, but heh guess theres a first for everything :s

not you Olgaline, the other poster. Trem was quoting you for validity, proving that the spambot was talking shite.
