It comes well recommended.

I prefer the faster gameplay compared to counter strike (which i sux at), and not so much of the 1 shot 1 kill either.

/puts down the EA marketing brouchure.

btw how exactly do you get IPs for the Game? I checked GameTiger but BF1942 hasnt been added yet.. Gamespy / ASE is also the same..

Do you have to use the Ingame Server Browser?

Ingame is easiest if you intend to be playing on the BW servers only. The game launchers don't really support BF enough to make it worthwhile using them.

Gah! I *attempted* my first go at BF1942, but when i sleected my Team, and my Car or what have you, it takes me to a Screen saying "Number of seconds to Spawn" or somethin, and a mini picture of the map we're playing.. but for some reason i cant actually join in the game! why? what do i have to do?


Also, while faffin about pressing buttons heh, i came into Chasecam watching my Teammates.. anyway, i noticed how it was pretty juddery / laggy when they where driving Tanks / Other Vehicles... is this normal?

Bah! i finally found out how to Spawn.. anyway, i landed on this Boat.. looked round, hmm not bad, does seem a bit juddery, and that Crosshair looks Big and Recoil-ly.. anyway, i walked about 10paces forward and i Had a blue screen! then my Computer died! ffs ive not had a BSoD on 2000 for ages and this game did it! I would install the Latest Dets for my GF3, but if i do that, then i get some Error which has been posted a few times in the HW Forum (Desk.cpl cant be found etc)

I think it's just a fucked chasecam, when you're actually driving/riding in a vehicle it's fine.

yeah.. i created a Server (What i thought was for me.. but people joined in lol) It was pretty stable a bit of juddering here and there, but that was to be expected..

Anyway, i blew this guy up with my Tank (After playing merrily for 30mins) and it crashed on me again :eek:

heh yay! i can finally fly :D i found out that i didnt have "Pitch" configured in my controls.. once i figured out how it works i set free.... right into the middleof the ocean.. lost... heh then i found my way and smashed into the Ships

I give up TBH. I joined BW server last night, and had a rock steady , err, 600 ping :(
I joined a BY server this morning and all was fine, 80 ping or so, no problems. Then the game restarted and guess what ? 1000 ping.
Theres a patch coming out apparently, I think I'll try again then .

hmm.. i tell ya, i never play properly on it, i just get hooked on Guiding the Planes into Building / Water etc.. fuckin funny..

Also last night, i got a Jeep, got a Passenger, went at top speed driving towards a cliff, then bailed out at the last second so the jeep went over with the guy in :D I couldnt stop laughin my arse off :D

Plus i cant get the hang of them ruddy planes, i am noticing when i get in the Air, the damn Plane tilts on its side (right?) thus i end up doin a 360 spin heh :D

But yesterday i decided to try out a huge Loop-de-Loop that was good and it worked.. until i smashed into the side of the cliff (D'oh!) :D

SG, start a local server and practice flying the planes on your own, that way you don't piss off other players by crashing them repeatedly into trees, cliffs, the sea, boats etc...

Both GameSpy Arcade and GameSpy 3D fully support BF1942 demo. ASE will also be supported properly when the new Demo patch comes out.
