Just gotta love old halflife!

Surfed around google vids as usually while i stumpled across a video with my old fav full time game: halflife.

Well its not 'real' halflife since its a mod, but it mods the old physics wich halflife had in the beginning (till cs kiddies whined about bunny hops).

Was, and still is, an incredibly fast game (probably the fastest fps out there), such a shame cs and quake was so much more popular so it kinda died out. Take a look at the video, pretty bad quality tho, and see for yourself!

Just think its a shame that such a good game have been completely forgotten... If you ever feel bored and need to dust off halflife again id be happy to help you on the way and have a little match

I always thought halflife died down because of...halflife 2..

Maybe not original, but certanly unique when it comes to the playstyle of the top players and clans. Nothing special about halflife as multiplayer game when you dont fully use the gamephysics and mechanics...

QW and halflife have roughly the same physics (bunnyjump etc) but theres one difference, you got the gauss rifle to accelerate you to insane speeds..

The vid doesnt illustrate it good enough, but was the best i could find around atm ;/

and rocketlauncher/grenadelauncher dont have the same effect? and QW physics makes bunnyjumping alot faster than HL physics

biggest diff is that QW aint flooded with futuristic instahitoneshot shit weapons (gauss/railgun etc)

(i never played adrenaline tho, maybe it makes the physics more QW like... strange that all the best mods for every game pretty much only changed physics to QW physics eh? )

Well halflife engine is just basicly the same as QW engine, except valve upgraded the graphics just a little. What ive been told from QW/ag players is that the physics are very very close to each other. And ag physics just enable bunnyjumping as halflife originally had untill cs kids started to whine :> So its not because they try to emulate QW physics, the mod just tries to re-enable the original physics.

To put the speed in perspective, i just moved very close to the speed of crossbow bolts when they are fired with that explosive charge instead of the zoom+insta hit..

maan, that game will never lose its charm with me. remeber playing it in cafe and later when we got comp at home, as well as watching crispy play it alot hldm/ag has to be best fps ever.

got it the other way around, i didnt like UT (like q3) some people are different! for me the mechanics and how to use them in hl are the most complicated and most entertaining to master.

I played for 187 back in the day ... same must be 4 years though can remember when we first played 750 in GWTFCL *I think*. I had never heard of them as we played mainly prem UKTFCL, was a really good match.
