But I wonder if Game.net could have a 1.6 beta server ? Theres hundreds of 1.5 servers, many empty, so its hardly suprising that our preview one is empty a lot.
On ther other hand, 1.6 servers are quite few and far between,and if people used it as a beta they may continue when its official.
What do you lot think ?

How beta is 1.6 beta?

I thought they stopped with all the beta rubbish once it went retail?

Its pretty solid atm, nearing the end of the beta - its the 12th release since testing began so it wont be unreliable.

There always has to be beta versions of the next version, its the current state of the build. What varies is the release scope - ie how many people get to see it.

I asked about this when I got back from my trip and discovered 1.6.

Apart from GAME not supporting beta's, there was a very good reason that natrat and baz gave at the time for not supporting a steam server. Something about how many copies you need installed, I cant remember

It's a bit irrelevent now though, with the steam beta set to end, there will be no delivery system available for the 1.6 beta.
