I guess its time to breakout the tin foil and canned food again...

me dad just came in an told me he heard about a nasty virus thingy on the news... havent seen anything myself but apparently the "deadline" or whatever is 6-8pm tonight, just wanted to give ya'll a heads up

feel free to flame if i am wrong... but apparently its meant to be nasty...

update...

just heard a bit on the news, looks like an email worm, supposedly makes itself look like its come from somone in your contacts list, and the attatchment is somewhat nasty, i wont be going near me emails 2nite methinks...

anyway, just so ya know...

heh, only fools open attachments that look dodgy, and are from a sender they don't recognise

yea i know m8y, but not everyone is so carefull....
just wanted to tell ya, as the news ppl say 1 in every 17 emails are affected... ah well so sue me, i am waiting for SI to install and update and i am a little bored, seemed exciting to me

if people still open those email attachments, something really is wrong with them. I almost hope the virus hits them.

Thanks for the info Dukat, it looks as though you mean well

Most thesedays should be aware of Firewall / Virus checker needs, but there are still those that get caught out.

Unfortunately, there is a flip side of the coin, where many get spammed about a Virus that does not exist, which only causes more traffic etc ...

I just hope in this day and age all are aware of the need for firewalls / virus checkers and use such

yea, its a shame that some ppl have to bugger up everything with stupid virus's, spamming and other malicous stuff that isnt nessecary.

Ha, for a laugh I opened all those e-mails that seem to be personally addressed, you know , the ones that say
'hi-we met last night, or 'you've left your jacket/ex-girlfriend trying to get in touch..etc.

Every last one of them was selling Viagra
