Is this a really old dos/early win95 game?

If so, you might have serious problems getting things to run. That era of games tend to be full of bespoke-coded hardware checks. (Try configuring a working soundblaster setup using those old DOS menus, like in Duke Nukem 3D)

I tried Eye Of The Beholder recently. I have 1GB of RAM and it told me that wasn't enough when I started it up, because of some silly hard-coded base memory checks that fail on anyhting beyond 95.

Unless the game uses the windows game controller stuff to talk to joysticks, youre probably screwed. Try any local second hand computer parts shops or trade fairs if you're desperate)
