I hope Beckham does play for England, since his very close to 100 caps (6 to go iirc) and he has done alot for ths squad.

But I agree on Terry as captain. Gerrard seems too quiet and conserved. Although Lampard did seem a good alternative.

lol. Beckham is just an over payed piece of shit, against Portugal, he did FUCK all, look at the difference Lennon made when he came on down the right hand side ffs.

David Beckham should just go model or something, so he doesnt break his nails.

Well, your arguement is kind of flawed there. You mentioned one game out of 94 that he has played? Thats like saying Zidene has 'extreme temper problems' because he got sent off for a nasty attack on one of his many games.

Beckham has bought us out of the shit many times. We wouldn't have even played Portugal if it wasn't for Beckham. Not to mention, he is generally a good spokesperson for the English team and has learnt his limits alot more over the past couple of years.

Also, I don't really think you can totally compare Beckham and Lennon. Beckham plays with the ball fantastically and is still a master at free-kicks whereas Lennon generally runs with the ball and does later crosses into the box.

Haha, mate, im just giving you an example, he played shit from the moment he moved away from Manchester United. Bugz, to me you sound like one of those Japanese fans who thinks he's fucking wonderful, when it comes down to a hard game of football, he looks like a lost boy. He isnt a master of shit all, his freekicks barely go over the first man anymore, and late crosses, pfft, prove it to me mate. Lennon gets stuck in, does what a midfielder should do, pick up the pieces, he destroyed Port's right hand side when he came on, when generally thats where all the play had come from before.

Also, this is why the i rate the likes of Rooney, Gerrad, Terry etc, because they get stuck in, it may sound silly but they don't play like they are scared of the other fucking team.

Watch that video of Lennon. In alot of the clips, he goes very close to the corner kick line before feeding balls in.

Beckham doesn't do this as much because he doesn't have the speed and his balls are much more favored when he can aim, curl and use precision.

And no, I am not one of those 'japenase fans.' :kissit:

And as for your comment about Port's defence being ruined. Yes, that is true. Port were also a strong defence for crosses etc., which is where Beckham excels at. My bet is Beckham will have his last remaining caps used on teams with poor air defence (sounds army like there O_O) since he can abuse this weekness and create goal scoring opportunities.

Mate, you know shit all. Honestly.

Beckham, USED to be able to do that, i rated him about 4 years ago, When he was a bit younger and played a bit more aggressively. He could cross etc then, but now, he's just a waste of space on the pitch. Sven only kept him on because he is "David Beckham".

If i was England Manager, he would have never even touched the pitch.

Well, your the one just writing on a forum mate.

Atleast i'm backing up what i say with videos.

But then again, I guess you are right. You are backing your talk up with evidance and you have blatantly been watching England's football lately ^^

I gotta agree that Beckham has been in just for his personalety lately, and that I'd rather see SWP (with match-fitness of course) or Lennon on the sideline.
When that's said I think Lennon is a bit hyped too, he's a young lad with loads of talent, but I still think he needs a bit of maturing before going to the English team, much like Walcott.
Danish coach also just took Bendtner out, of course he's a young lad with talent, but for god's sake he's only played two matches at Birmingham now :p
Think it's becoming too much of a trend this picking young players as jokers, but then again we don't quite have that many attacking aces (only Lovenkrands, Søren Larsen and Jon Dahl,) but that's an entirely different discussion :p

I think Mclaren has dropped Beckham not for footballing reasons but to make his mark with his first squad. Dropping Walcott to the Under-21's is the same.

He is out to prove that although he worked under Eriksson he won't be following what he did.

Yes Beckham hasn't got legs like he used to but still the best passer and free kick taker weve got. I'd like to see him in central midfield again

Drop Lampard, not Beckham for the friendly imo.

Move Beckham into central midfield with Gerrard. Lennon or SWP on the right. Downing on left. Two new strikers up front, like Ashdown and Bent.
