Job interview tomorrow.. sigh.

So the guy from the company finally calls me (after a good 3- 4 months) and asks me if i still am looking for a job, and gives me a time to come for a job interview. Its some kind of telemarketing company / It support etc.

What questions do you think i´ll get ? What clothes should i wear (like it makes any differences!?) Should i answer truthfully to all questions or try and give him the answers he wants to hear ? Need some expert help now or im screwed tomorrow

How old are? What does the company sell? What did you put in your C.V.? What are your interests? Does the company have any goals that they like to fullfill (you might be asked about what you think you can bring to the company - just like Quality customer service, Friendly etc..)

Need information like that to be able to answer some of your questions.

lol you better believe it makes a difference. even if i was going for an interview at a friggin supermarket id wear a shirt + tie + preferably a smart jacket because appearence is everthing. The smarter you appear the smarter they'll think you are.

Dress smart - make an effort, it shows if you don't.

Answer the questions truthfully, if you don't know the answer say so but explain how you would find out, or what you would do in that situation - employers will not expect you to know everything.

IF you did make some wild claims in your C.V i'd have a quick scan through to make sure you remeber exactly what you said.. Nothing worse than getting asked "So you enjoy sailing and enter competitions, funny that so do i.. what class and fleet do you sail in?"

When we were interviewing people for a junior support possition (school leaver) one of the questions was how would you upgrade the clients system from Novell 3.12 to NT3.51 - just to guage how they respond, those who blagged it got dropped.

research any contemporary issues surrounding job requirements as you might be questioned about them

have a firm view in your mind of why you want the job , what you are offering for their company

Be polite, be confident (assertive), no negative body contact, wear a suit and be yourself.


(all dependant on how good the job is /how badly they want you... but most of it is pretty generic advice)

Thats bs seal. While I wouldn't necessarily choose to wear a suit every day, if I have the choice between earning £50k a year or £15k a year and the suit is what makes the difference. I would, and did happily agree to wear the suit. Its not the end of the world to have to dress smartly to go to work.

Never be affriad to wear a suit to an interview. The best part about interviews for me is the fact I get to wear my suit

yes I find its always best to go for the suit with tie option no matter what the interview for 2 reasons.

1st is ofc that its smart and shows you make the effort, and all that stuff about how you dress/appearance reflects on the company etc.

2nd is that if you get there and see that you are stupidly over dressed for the interview then all you have to do is remove your jacket, take off your tie, unbutton top shirt button. Hey presto you are now dressed smart casual without looking sloppy.

As far as I know the clothing discipline in UK is way more strict then say like Sweden, and I guess that Finland pretty similar to Sweden. My brother works a lot in the UK and at first he got chocked about how everybody were dressed in suits while in Sweden hardly anyone dress like that, way more casual all over in Sweden.
