Not the hymn.

Theres a series I just happened across that looks rather promising :)

http://uk.imdb.com/title/tt0805663/

The basic premise is a small town in middle America, BOOM goes an atomic bomb on the horizon, and we go from there. Nobody knows what's happened, who's been hit, if it was an attack or an accident.

I've just watched the first episode, 'tis rather good. If you have problems viewing it via torrents, pm me for more details.

/edit: I noticed Mobius posted about it before https://forums.freddyshouse.com/showthread.php?t=202193&highlight=jericho

Its not too bad but it gets a little predictable...

And sickeningly bathed in american patriotism.

Still watchable though...

I have watched every episode so far (15 as of this week) and it is brilliant, I love the whole post-apocalyptic vibe the show has going on and it has some very engaging characters with interesting backstories. Definately one of the best shows out of the U.S. in the last decade.

I second the good things said about this show, it's pretty decent, if a bit too american at times.

The whole fallout scenario is just pretty cool, and you never know "quite" what is actually going, even if certain bits are rather predictable.

Yeah I enjoyed the pilot but I never got around to watching anymore. I want to eventually though, it does look very interesting. I'm so far behind with Rome, Lost, Battlestar Galactica, and I still have The Wire to watch. It's a losing battle. :(

It's ok, interesting premise, but I'm a bit far behind on my tv watching, and it's not a priority series.

New guy at work told me to watch these. Half way through the series now and really enjoying it.

Of course, there's always bad new. Rumour has it that Jericho has been cancelled :( :( :(

There's a Save Jericho Petition of course. Over 21000 votes now. I swear companies should start using online petitions instead of neilson ratings :)

Here's the Full announcement.

To the Fans of Jericho:

Wow!

Over the past few weeks you have put forth an impressive and probably unprecedented display of passion in support of a prime time television series. You got our attention; your emails and collective voice have been heard.

As a result, CBS has ordered seven episodes of “Jericho” for mid-season next year. In success, there is the potential for more. But, for there to be more “Jericho,” we will need more viewers.

A loyal and passionate community has clearly formed around the show. But that community needs to grow. It needs to grow on the CBS Television Network, as well as on the many digital platforms where we make the show available.

We will count on you to rally around the show, to recruit new viewers with the same grass-roots energy, intensity and volume you have displayed in recent weeks.

At this time, I cannot tell you the specific date or time period that “Jericho” will return to our schedule. However, in the interim, we are working on several initiatives to help introduce the show to new audiences. This includes re-broadcasting “Jericho” on CBS this summer, streaming episodes and clips from these episodes across the CBS Audience Network (online), releasing the first season DVD on September 25 and continuing the story of Jericho in the digital world until the new episodes return. We will let you know specifics when we have them so you can pass them on.

On behalf of everyone at CBS, thank you for expressing your support of “Jericho” in such an extraordinary manner. Your protest was creative, sustained and very thoughtful and respectful in tone. You made a difference.

Sincerely,

Nina Tassler

President, CBS Entertainment

P.S. Please stop sending us nuts :)"

So, the way I read that, they've order 7 episodes, but if DVD sales and viewing figures improve it could run again.

This means we are in the hands of the neilsen fraternity again. The only thing we can influence is the DVD sales, so buy a few copies when it comes out and give some to your friends for Christmas.

It's a shame that I don't think it'll do any good, as I suspect that over 50% of the people that signed the petition and sent nuts to CDS, probably download the show via a torrent ;)
