hay Ho Neighborino's!
Quickie film review for ya'll:
Facts!: Jarhead, made by the bloke that did american beauty (sam mendes?) with that kid from donnie darko (jake somewassit) and jamie foxx (from collateral and ray)
Summery!: set in Gulf war 1 about a dude that goes in to the army as a marine sniper and the hi jinks him and his pals go through, they go to war, some harrowing stuff, war ends they go home.
My 10 cents!: excellant film, though if you've read the book you'll notice some changes, really great cast some brilliantly funny moments, basically the first half is increadibly funny then the war happens, seriousness descends and though theres still some funny bits it gets a whole lot darker, its neither pro or anti war its just what happens when a bunch of guys get called out and what happened to them (based on a true story, see book of same name) there are some absoloutely stunning shots here, the bits with the burning oil well's is truely amazing.
tbh if you like war movies you'll like this, great stuff imo the mendes bloke cant go wrong.
