ok so agreed with quite alot that he was on about and proposed some good ideas, but thought it was a bit misleading to claim that British food standards are higher than majority of europe which may be true (compared to eastern europe and such) but since the majority of pork imported into the uk comes from Scandinavia and Germany where the legal standard is the same or higher it seems like a pretty bold claim!

I am sick of the fat tongued twat, enough is enough now.

He just comes across as a wanker now, it started good with his school dinner thing then he realised there was money in it for him and he just forces it all on you.

I actually don't think he's doing it for the money anymore, i think he just loves the attention and enjoys taking the moral high ground and being a smug bastard at the same time.

Was good but odd. Didn't agree with his 100% of pork should be British, we are part of the EU that encourages trade between all member states, importing/exporting our pork is a good thing its what makes the world turn round.

I tend to agree with most of the points that Jamie made during in the show even if he is a self-righteous narcissitic **** box.

The point he didn't make was the recent shift in exchange rates will make the UK farmers more profitable. Our produce is cheaper abroad so they could get more money for the pork shoulders relatively. We are also less likely to buy from abroad if british produce is 'relatively' cheaper.

This is a probably bigger effect than any of the things he has mentioned in his show.

Its ironic that fat porker is championing British pork :p

Judging by the rest of the british farming community no doubt there are some godawfull intensive british pork farms about.

I cant say I'm a big fan of british farming - we went too far down the intensive route.

Its much better for the environment and the livestock to have lots of little farms (which also would mean we'd earn a lot more under the common agricultural policy) like they have in most of the rest of europe - we suck - we should stick to arable farms...

On the same note why should we import it when we have as good as and in some cases a better quality of pork in the UK?

I am all for international trade, the world would stop functioning without it, but there is absolutely no need to ship the same product from another country when we can produce it here. Its better for the environment and its better for UK industry/jobs to use British products where possible.

The Bacon Sandwich is the finest food invention in the history of everything, ever. You sir, are a philistine.

Bacon is nice but pork, you know, pork chops and joints are just horrid.

If cooked well pork is stunning. It's very, very easy to cook badly though, and it will normally end up dry.

There's nothing like a tasty bit of pork fillet or tenderloin.
