He's too smug for me to take any notice of him. The Ian Hislop of music.

He's alright in person, but I'm not a big fan of his music... Agreed on the smugness thing

Hes very good, who cares if hes smug, its the music that counts. I have both albums, they can get a little bit 'samey', but on the whole, worth buying.

Talented guy. Wouldn't buy an album of his, as I find his choice of tunes a bit dull. His version of Frontin is dead good though.

Try Peter Cincotti, 'I changed the Rules' if you like Jamie Cullum.

Wuth 'Frontin' What he has done is taken a very good pop song and removed any of what was godo before, replacing it with 'jazz' (a close commercial approximation anywway) . But hey, he's down with the kids!

pile of shit

should be shot

That's the problem with most covers though isn't it? Especially the ones aimed at the commercial market...they're just quickly rehashed, messed about and spat out in order for the Fans to buy, and indulge...giving Audi Driving, Execs some hip cred(in the case of Joss Stone) and grebo 'alternative' a chance to laugh smugly at the irony of such a band covering one of thoise s'hitty chart pop' songs(in the case of lost prophets)

It wouldn't be so bad if supposedly 'non-mainstream' bands/artists covered shit pop songs well, but when they take undeniably brilliant originals and manage to remove all the dashes of fantastic its worse than any shit the original 'commercial' artists could have put out themselves.
