For me, I don't like playing male chars. Only because it felt very un-natural for me.

I've tried it many times and I have noticed a few things:
-I didn't hear "sweetie, hunny, sugar, etc" every 5 mins.
-No one went out of their way to give me things or help me out (no I don't look for hand-outs, and I'm not complaining)
-Men are given a little more allowances when they get angry. If a woman is bossy, she's a bitch. If a man does it, its because he knows what he's talking about.
-And my favorite... If someone asks me for something like power leveling when I'm playing Choppy... YES SOME PEOPLE ACTUALLY DO ASK, STOP THAT SNICKERING IN THE BACK! ...Anyway, when someone asks and I say no, they are cool with it. No whining, no trying to reason with me. That's the end of it. But if people ask me when I play Kyra, if I say no, I usually get an argument. Now granted, part of it could be that its well known that I am a very nice person (unless you mess with my friends or guildies) and will pretty much go out of my way to help someone. Playing Choppy gives me the freedom to explore my inner jerk without worrying about people thinking Kyra was mean. Everyone knows Choppy can be an ass. (JUSK KIDDING HUN, I WUB YOU!)

So while it can have benefits, it just doesn't feel right for me to play a male character all the time. It not be for me, but its nice to know that there are women out there who do.

If you have to sit watching your character's arse all day while it's running along, it might as well look nice. Hence female toons.
