Go on then, who's been playing with it?

Having been initially sceptical - I have after all, used Real Player - I'm actually impressed. Sort of.

It is stupidly easy to use. The compact mode is ery sexy. And it seems to play at good quality.

However, 40 MEGS TO RUN THIS? Seems a tad excessive. Not that I should really complain on my setup, but it does seem rather huge.

The other, frankly more irritating problem, regards hotkeys. I really do hope someone adds these in sharpish. Switching from WinAmp 2, the absence of hotkeys (and my beloved Winamp Slider) is rather nasty. Also, the multimedia keys (on the keyboard) are lagged to buggery, takes 5 seconds+ for it to move to the next track.

I don't know how long I'm going to use it for before I get bored and return to the safety of Winamp, but it's lasting longer than most cause the media library is very nice.

Anyone else?

I have had a little play with it and imnot that impressed.
It more to do with the fact i have winamp how i like it and the songs in a certain order (Not by any sensible method) so i can get to them when i want.

Back to winamp.

I've used the app all day and all I can say is that for me it RAWKS!

MM keys are instantly responsive, everything is in the same place as the OSX version I've grown to love... So now I can rate my collection track by track and use all of the groovy ipod syncing options previously limited to my G4.

Interesting that you say that, I have an interesting problem in that area...
I have a Microsoft Office keyboard and have remapped the "Undo" key to "Play/Pause media track". In Winamp this worked fine, but in iTunes it not only plays/pauses the current track, but also opens up a Windows Explorer window pointing to "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Hardware\Keyboard".

Which is not only weird and obscure, but bloody annoying :(

are you using the latest version of intellitype?

I'm using the multimedia keyboard, so have native play/paulse stop next last and vol up/down.

is there much point at looking at the software until you can? Do they do an IP check, and lock out any non US ranges?

I wonder if using an anonymous proxy in the states would fool it?

or is it a case that the software itself is useful as a media library type app?

no, their card clearing only insures them for the US at present, or so I gather, so any visas etc registered to countries outside the US get rejected.

Heh, why block IPs when you can limit something far more effective ;)

It's much more than a front end to their music store, the whole damn app is imho luvleh!
