got showered twice [more than enough for a lifetime heh] once was the hcl thing, and the other was when I was in hazard and I felt a draught in my suit EEK that scared the hell out of me heh.
they showered me off laughing and when I asked what the F* was so funny they explained that the suit was pressureised over the room stat so any tears would be blowing out, not in. woo I could have kicked myself hehe
cource I knew that....but kinda forgot when I felt the breeze down the side of my gasmask

That sounds like our D suits, self contained, fully sealed, BA required. We have to use them in leak situations, but weve never had to thankfully.

ah no ours weren't mate. well at least we had to snake power and o2 cables everywhere we went as opposed to schlepping a h00ge heavy tank everywhere hehe there are many different grades iirc [5 years ago now]
we had to strip to skivvies, then a paper suit with taped on chem gloves/boots. then a sort of harness to keep the big suit [which came last] off your body as the environ was 60~70C to keep the crud we were working with viscous. was pretty cool tho, we also had those vam mics and ear thingys was like *crackle*awwrite andrew, close valve number*hiss*crackle*static* *crackle*valve what?*crackle*you heard me!*crackle*no I didn't!*hiss*yes you did!*static*

Well we only use the d suits for emergencies, rescues if theres a leak etc. The big heavy bottles have gone all small and carbon fibre now, very high pressure, last about 40 mins I rekon.

Hopefully wont EVER have to use one in anger, mind I spose if there is a leak, thats the place to be, in your own little world, until the air runs out anyway.:uhoh:

the vision of being trapped somewhere, with a girder or something pinning you down while the air runs out is rather unmanning. still, according to the movies, one is supposed to make it heh.

BTW, feelin a bit better now, Ive had a pink pill from the med centre, and it seems to be doin the trick. Feel strangley lightheaded, but I think its a bit strong, cos Im only allowed 1 in 8hrs. Still, on the box it says

do not operate heavy machinery

Shame, I'll have to lead the troops from the comfort of my office.
