I think 'was' mental is more appropriate as she's dead.

They did say about a month ago that £3 million has been put by for her state funeral, you may be getting confused with that thinking she was dead already??

I'm not a political sort but fair play to the lass for holding such a high powered job for 12 years (I think?) and having some time afterwards before going batty.

And as eksdee has shown, people still hate her for what she thought might be the right direction for her people. She has the right to go mental imo.

Yeah I mean, how dare she prevent us having an econemy like Poland!?!?!?

The cheek of the bitch!

Let's have Germany and Russia own your country for 6 years in a war, then a 45 year long occupation and then we talk about economy.

There is definitely a point here. She did take the UK out of a secondary-industry led base into tertiary/quaternary based economy which is much more beneficial. We would be in further dire straits if we were still govt owned loss companies that had socialist rights running businesses. The was a hard job and she did it, she just did it a lot more brutally than others may have. In the end she broke the overwhelming power of the unions. Look what happens when French unions want to cock things up, they do - royally.

Just an economic perspective, not political.

Exactly, she was saving the coal for when prices are really high.

But coal isn't a great resource for lots of reasons. Plastics for one, this might frighten you, and it's true on projected figures. Not nice figures.

These are the UN's figures that are widely used from 7 years ago, couldn't get my hands on a current figure but they give you a picture.

Bullsj1t eh? I assume you're a resource specialist then? I'm sure you are....

Doesnt anyone else think Carol Thatcher is a complete bitch for writing a book about this? Talk about cashing in on someone else's problems, you'd think most people wouldnt do this to thier own parent.

Whether you personally think she was a good or a bad leader, as Kiliarien said, she did what she thought was best for the country.

I really dont think its right and proper to do this to someone who used to run the country though. What purpose does this sort of news really serve?

Britain would be a lot worse off now if Thatcher had not turned the country around. It was painfull for many people but necessary in the long term.

Carol Thatcher is a complete arse for cashing in on this. Should have been left until after she's in the ground.

Those UN oil figures are incorrect as they only include current wells in use and not untapped projected supplies that they already know about in Eastern Russia, Alaska, Spratley Islands, Gulf of Mexico and many other deep sea supplies. Like Churchil once summised, 'there are lies, damned lies and statistics!'

Some oil experts believe there to enough supply for at least 200 years or more.
