This is actually pretty interesting.

When my shammy casts a dot on a mob, and someone else has already done it, I get a message saying that the target already has that effect.

If I crit, I can't cast any more single target dots on same mob (but then, who cares ;))

If I crit, I overwrite the other person's dot (I think, not positive).

However, I have to admit I thought that shammy dots stack, because when I'm soloing stuff with my shammy:

blue con: Bolt, 1 dot, melee
yellow con: Frigg, bolt, 2 dots, melee, occasionally insta disease
orange con: Frigg, bolt, 3 dots, melee, insta disease

I find that if I don't do it like this yellows are tricky and orange cons eat me alive.

However, someone said that the best dot sticks rather than them stacking. This might also fit what I've seen so it might be this. The other thing would be that effectively your dot lasts longer since you are extending it by recasting dot. Again, this also might be a factor in my solo technique.

The non-stackable dot theory fits with SM debuffs: baseline and specline debuffs stack, but baseline doesn't stack with other baseline debuffs.

It would be interesting to be able to ask Mythic directly and get an answer once and for all :)

LOL :)

Its all been said before :p

I remember a slew of VN board posts after insane lag, an AE dotting menta and a couple of PBAErs doomed an entire albion relic raid....was a billion AE dot nerf cries :D

But accept it, its not like theres a cabalist zerg - on duskwave i think there were several level 7s on the top 50 list :p

Roo, you can tell if they stack because you get two damage messages per tick instead of one. :)
If you only get one you're just extending your dot time.
