There is a timer of 4 "ticks" on the cabalist DoT, even when specced in matter to full. Anyway, come on....give us poor unloved cabalists a break: this spell actually makes us useful, you know.

i mean with my shammy on excal i can cast dot after my initial dot but it just refreshs it, and ive been got by shaman aoe dot with my ns for 105+- dmg a tick and if that crit' it'd be around the same

The cabalist base line and spec line DoTs are stackable from 1.52. The Dot's cannot stack with themselves. So you can have 2 DoTs at most dissolving a player. If you don't have healing or purge and these were cast by a level 50 matter specc'ed cabbie, you're pretty much dead.

on my shammy i can crit on aoe dot over 200+ aswell, single dot 300+

too bad we can have a max of +20% on crits and they are RA's :'(. ( wild arcana )

the trick is too spam dots 3 or 4 times so you get all targets criticals cause the best dot stays on them. Since patch i'm very much in love with my cave mistress.

44 cave / 16 mend / 13 aug atm.

going for 46 cave 16 mend 20+ ( rest ) in aug.

Heh, Delboy. I've only been playing with new DoT for a tiny while, figured it was same timer as the others as I've only ever seen it kick four times...and that's how I once read it described somewhere vaguely official. The world knows I'm blonde, however....

It's amazing I find my way in and out of battle, sometimes. Which way is it to Snowdonia again? I get lost at Prydwen Bridge, don't you know.

I thought cab was like mentalist dot, 6 for spec and ae and 4 for base...
Also 200+ dots are pretty common, cab in my group was heard to say "cool had 5 dots ticking for over 200 in that fight" last night. Wild arcania 4 is great.

Shaman only get 1 DoT (and 1 AE Dot). So theres nothing for it to stack with. Silly.

Cabbys get 2 DoTs, 1 baseline, 1 specline and 1 AE DoT. As far as I know, cabbys cannot stack AE DoT and DoT, just the 2 DoTs, but I'm probably wrong..

What he said. The level 24 AoE dot ruled Thidranki keep defences Combining that with a single target dot on the tanks running to gank me ... very dead tanks, and one RP capped matter cabalist in no time.

As for hitting the cabalist -- I often set my pet to stand near the local friar. When a shadowblade/nightshade appeared to gank the cabalist he got a very nasty shock

Stackable dots are a joke imo... and Danyan, where did you read something about dots will only stack for pure casters? the only reason why shaman dots don't stack is that they have the only dot in Midgard if i remember correctly, and they simply don't stack with another shaman dot (neither do cabalist same dots)...

Why? This is the matter cabalists only means of attack, just like the mana mentalist in Hibernia. Mentalist dots stacked in previous patches, cabalists dots only stack since this new patch.

Don't know a lot about Shaman but I do know they can heal, use weapons and wear chain armour. Cabalists are a pure caster class with paper armour so SHOULD have better offensive magic.

Some people would only stop moaning about other classes if they had identical abilities in all 3 realms. And then they would spend their time moaning that the game was dull and repetitive

Cabalist can stack their dots with each other, if they are of different types (base/spec). As can mentalists. Both are pure casters and the primary dot casters in their realms. I know for a fact you can stack 2 ment dots and a druid dot on a target for a total of 3 dots ticking in hib too.

Dots stack if one is baseline the other is spec, class doesn't matter, wizard, sorc, cabalist. Only AE dots that stack is Cabalist spec AE dot and Sorc RA dot
