I think there is a similar thread somewhere but I like things fresh so I've started a new one. Plus I'm bored of seeing the "What obscure tune can you think of next?" thread dominating this part of the forum.

Anyway... What gigs have you all got planned over the next few months?

Now that I'm in an area of the UK where bands actually play I've bought myself a few tickets.

1) Flaming Lips next monday (24th April in the Birmingham Carling)
2) Radiohead in May (Wolverhampton Civic... small venue so it should be a cracking gig)
3) V Festival
4) Maximo Park in October sometime
5) Editors in May (Manchester somewhere)

Really looking forward to them all.

Just Radiohead in May (Blackpool) and Download festival meself.

Was going to go to Leeds but fairly glad we decided on Download this year, there's only two bands (Muse and Audioslave) that would have been nice to see there this year, meh.

Always subject to change and many many additions but these are the important ones coming:

Fri 21st April: BOSH! - pre launch @ Mass Club, Brixton. Mate from London has secured a regular set, gwaaaan.
Sat 29th April: Hospital Records @ Audio, Brighton. Fabio and Cyantific.
Sat 6th May: Krafty Kuts "Freakshow" Album Launch @ Concorde 2, Brighton. One of the UK's best DJs doing a 5 hour set of hip-hop, breakbeat and drum and bass.

Bit of a gap for exams and essays.

Sat 10th June: Plump DJs @ Audio, Brighton. Breakbeat.
Mon 12th June: King Diamond @ Electric Ballroom, Camden. FINALLY get to see him live: been a fan my entire life and never had the chance to see him. He's not been in the country for 5 years. Already got my tickets and jumping up and down with excitement.

Add in to the mix Wednesday night @ Audio, Brighton: Supercharged. Very good breakbeat night, always good lineup. Last week Adam Freeland this week Tayo. Not bad for a couple of squids.

Only festival plans for this year are Global Gathering and probably Creamfields, couldn't get tickets to V but then again the lineup didn't really appeal to me so I'm not that fussed. I wouldn't mind seeing Radiohead, just not at a festival and Morrissey is a talentless moaning cock so I'm quite happy to miss him too. There is a DnB mashup at Stealth in Nottingham on April 30th which I'm planning on heading to also.

As the OP pointed out tho, to me they're some fairly obscure bands releasing stuff atm.

I went to see Pendulum last night, the preceding DJs were all twats and shit though, pendulum were pretty good though. The mc from pendulum was dancing in the club for an hour or two before their set as well.

The John Mcririck vs Drum n bass that was the previous DJs was so fucking dire though.

It is a cracking little venue, I saw Audioslave in there last year... blinding gig. I think I'm going to this Radiohead one too, depending on nights off work etc.

Which bit of the country are you in now leggy?

I currently live in Sutton Coldfield. North east of Birmingham. Easy access to the motorways so I can commute to my various places of work.

Are you still in Stoke?

Fantastic.

Really cracking gig. They played some new stuff which sounded pretty decent.

Took fcking 50 mins to get out the bleeding car park though. I think I was suffering from CO poisoning by the time we hit the street.

So... The Editors.

I demand my fucking money back. Dull, second rate Interpol clones. I have seen more charisma in a rotting tory corpse.

saw Mozzer the other week in Kings Lynn. Best gig ever. I was on the front barrier. Amazing.

week before that was ATP Weekend 2; The Shins, Sleater Kinney, Radar Bros., Lightning Bolt (2nd best gig ever), Broken Social Scene, Microphones, Mission of Burma, New Pornographers, Dinosaur Jr etc....brilliant, bit of a shame Edith Frost and Band Of Horses cancelled.

upcoming I've got

1) Moz in rome july 16th, possibly
2) Silver Jews, july 15th mean fiddler
3) Tortoise doing 'Millions now living...' july 25th KOKO?

awesome....

oi legzor :)

It was I that started the old thread, no harm in a new 'un *tips hat*.

I saw Radiohead in Blackpool on the second night they did there - was VERY VERY good, I think I'm getting on a bit though as I had two blondes with me and although I should have been chilling I was more thinking "hmm will it end soon as I've got to drive 150 miles home" ...

Anyways in 2 weeks or so I am off to http://www.lowlands.nl/ with the Mrs. Spending a bit of time on Amsterdam before and after the festival.

I'm most interested in seeing Gogol Bordello, Muse and erm...other stuff. Its the first festival the mrs has ever been to and she's going bonkers - I'm a jaded fuck :) Top festival anyway this will be the 3rd time I've been, very cheap, allowed to take weed in, clean, nice showers, you get beer tokens for picking up empty glasses etc etc.

So I hate to keep my own thread going but Devendra Banhart is absolutely amazing. Best gig so far and he didn't play any of his big ones. So to speak.

Still got the Guillemots, The Walkmen and Sparklehorse to go.
