thats just the standard edition right? aren't they going to release the collectors special edition some time soon as well?

I just calculated the playing time for the standard and extended versions. It's the standard version alright.

9h 17m = standard
11h 21m = extended

Chances are that Warner will release the "Special Ultra OMFG Final Director's edition boxset" a year or two later in 2012 to tie-in with the second of the "Hobbit" films.

I've been waiting since I got my PS3 for the bluray version of the Star Wars franchise. I'm patient enough to wait for the extended edition LOTR on bluray.
