One thing that annoys me is tube drivers always wanting more money saying their job is dangerous

Our drivers (for those that dont know i work for a london bus company) never strike, actually they had a vote with the union and it was a massive double no to strike.
People say bus drivers are wankers, but can you blame them when they have to deal with things like this?

Well that wouldn't explain why busdrivers act like cocsk at times (it's a service job, you have to smile through the shit, it's your job), but it DOES validate needs for better pay and security.

It was a road rage attack, something that could have happened to any motorist. There is no reason it's specific to the bus driver, it wasn't his passengers he had to deal with. Sad for the guy, but road rage shit like this happens, I would question why he left his bus and put himself in danger?

The reason people say they are wankers is that most young bus drivers are rude, inconsiderate, bad drivers. They do not act with courtesy towards their passengers and so get none back. Round here half the drivers are on their phones while "working".

Lot of nice drivers, but the bad one's are getting more common. I think your training and recruitment standards need looking at.

I used to work in HR before IT and the incident reports i read would make you sick. things from people spitting on drivers to throwing eggs at them.

Theres been alot of potential stabbings for no reason. Buses get blamed for cutting people up when leaving a bus stand but and i've watched this hundreds of times by law you are supposed to let the bus out but people speed up to try get past the bus, its not the drivers fault he has already started leaving the stand. But people will blame the bus driver cause the car driver tried to beat the bus

I bet alot of other drivers in london have seen that exact situation more than once last week

That does not excuse the behaviours I have described, bus drivers should have better training to deal with the public. I think this would really lead to less flare ups. As for driving, the roads are bad for everyone when it comes to road rage.

You cannot unfortunately be in a front line public service job without getting some abuse these days, that is just how it is. Saying that, I have seen drivers get support from other passengers more often than I have seen one person allowed to abuse or assault a driver. Especially in south london, we don't like our journeys interrupted by another passenger being a cock.

It's a vicious cycle(yes!) of so;

- Person A acts like a cock (or Driver A has a bad hair day).
- Driver A gets pissed off at person A.
- Driver A acts more of a cock to person B.
- Person B acts like a cock to bus driver B.
- Driver B actrs like a...

Same goes with school bullying, stores, and any human relationship(even BF/GF), when people forget that actions of A do not equal actions of B.

In public service jobs, it's the servants job to cut this cycle.

Around here the worst behaviours come from private security guards @ the Metro.

The other day, a 40years old man was beaten and sent to the hospital by a couple of those "bouncers" just because they asked him for the metro ticket and the ID card, and he refused to show them his ID card cuz legally only cops are allowed to ask for it.

Not all drivers start out as arrogant wankers. See someone fresh out of training and they are friendly happy people. But having wankers bring you down because they have had bad drivers in the past will eventually make you sour too

its not all down to the drivers, the public instantly assume all drivers are cocks and will treat all like that. If hundreds of people were constantly having a go at you, you would eventually be like that
