Can anyone recommend a good italian resturant in Central London (Preferably not to far away from Picadilly Circus), ta.

Will check back on the flames and replies and stuff when I get back home.

Pizza Hut.

Ahh the internet child, full of good advice.

Have you tried the Sunday supplements? Usually some restaraunt reviews in there.

The only one on anattic's list near you is the Italian Graffiti in Soho.

Unfortunately I can't recommend any particularly nice Italians near Piccadilly (only an incredibly cheap one called Pollo north of Leicester Square) as I always tend to eat other cusine when out in central London, but look on a few of the restaurant guide websites (just google london restaurants and there's quite a few guides) for good rated restaurants in Soho or Mayfair (or Covent Garden at a push as it's not far). There's always a Bella Pasta off the SE corner of Leicester Square if desperate!

I have a client who runs a recommended fish restaurant in London, made the top 50 restaurant list. It's run by Italians, but the cuisine isn't exclusively Italian.

If this appeals PM me and I will give you more details. The owners daughter is a friend of Madonna and she sometimes eats in their with her fella. Not sure if that's a recommendation though! ;)

If I knew Madonna was eating somewhere I'd dress up as a rambler and walk around her table just to piss her off.

Cheers for the links and advice guys. I'm sure I can find somewhere nice before the 18th. Btw, does anyone know if flash photography is allowed in theaters? I'm thinking no :)

A flash wouldn't really do much anyway. Get either fast film, or increase the ISO and shutter time on your digital camera.

Italian Graffiti is OK tbh. Been a few years since I went there but it was a decent restaurant then. There's another one on one of those little connecting streets between the bottom of Regent Street and Picadilly, but I can't remember the name. The best Italian restaurant I've been to in London is Isola, but that's in Knightsbridge so probably too far away. If you want 'Modern European with an Italian slant' there's Teatro - Leslie Ash's place, quite expensive but good and v.close to theatres on Shaftesbury Ave.

Bumping this because I was talking to a friend tonight who eats out a bit more in London than I do. He suggested Biagio which is next to Charing Cross station so just under 15 mins walk from Piccadilly Circus.

If you stand outside Charing Cross station looking at it there's a pedestrianised road that runs down the side of it to your left to the Embankment tube. Biagio's is a few doors down on the left.

Price about £20 for 3 courses (say £4 starter, £9 main course, £3 side dish, £4 dessert) + drinks.
Not eaten there myself but my friends judgement is usually good.
