And I'd think a modicum of intelligence might help somewhat in the successful completion of a degree and/or Ph.D/Masters Scoobs. Doing and getting are two different things. I wouldn't spend 8 years of my life doing something if I didn't think I had the brains to do it, or the need for it. As a side note, don't see many of Damini's chavs with Ph.Ds now do you?

No, I don't need a degree to work in the music industry, what I did need was a ton of graft, and years spent doing the shit jobs. I'm 23, I've been able to call myself a sound engineer for about 8 months. Prior to that I spent 5 years cleaning toilets, making tea, doing soldering, cataloging cables, and millions of other menial jobs. I did all that because ever since I was little music has captivated me, and has been my true love. So please don't belittle my choice of job because you believe it to be a job that doesn't require brains.

It was specifically about the music industry as a whole, hence my reference to the Spice Girls. I'm quite aware that your job specifically is fairly technical, and as such requires a smidgen of intelligence.

I left midway through my A-Levels because I began working, which is why I lack A-Levels, not because of any inability to get them. We're doing A-Level standard material at the moment, and my average coursework mark is 96.7%

Difficult it is not.

I quit working in BT (aforementioned job) after 9 years because the job was boring me stupid, and took 6 months out without seriously looking for work, to both decide what I was going to do with my future and to sort it out.

The fact that I was fucked about by the course director for 4 of those months when I was under the impression that this course would be full time (4 days per week) and therefore done inside a year is the reason why I'm working part time at the moment. The fact that the money is better than the DHSS amount per fortnight is another.

The fact that it gets me out of the house and stops me spending my life in the pub with my mates is another.
