Issue number on a solo card?

"Issue Number
The Issue Number is on the front of the debit card.The issue number tends to be one or two digits in length. It is required for most UK Maestro and Solo card transactions. It must be entered exactly as it appears on the card (i.e. with any leading zeros).

If the Issue Number is not entered or an incorrect number is used, the payment will not be accepted.

If there is no Issue Number shown on your card you can leave the box blank. Please do not enter a zero if you have no Issue Number."

Well Play.com finally accepted my card and sent the item off for delivery. They say it will be dispatched within 24 hours but I had to wait 29 :<

I was going to suggest you posted a photo of your card so I could show you where the issue number was.

Isn't the issue number just the 'number' card you're on?.

Say you lose your card, cancel it, the next one should have an issue number of 2?

Nor mine, its only for credit cards afaik, just leave it blank when filling out.

Issue number nowadays is the last 3 digits on the sig strip on the back of the card - but never ever give it out to anyone over the phone etc - One scam doing the rounds atm is people phoning up stating a large purchase has been made on your card etc - can you confirm it wasnt you - they continue on for awhile then ask you to confirm some of the info on your card including the Issue number - and soon as you do - thank you very much and goodnight....

Oh and always shred your bank statements everyone - having worked in a fraud department I can tell ya a lot of bins get rummaged through for those type of documents......

Thats the security number... the last three digits.

I can remember NatWest dont have issue numbers on their maestro or solo cards. And most banks have the digits on the card as their account numbers and stuff, but NatWest dont do that either.
