ISP anyone

Right, thats it, I am officially pissed off with BT anytime.


Has anyone got any suggestions for a decent ISP which you pay for monthly,(i dont want a premium rate phone bill job) has to be 56k cos I cant get ADSL, ISDN, cable etc in my area.

Any ideas?

I use Claranet (www.clara.co.uk) and am pretty pleased with the performance the connection gives me. Average ping to BW servers is about 130 on a 56k for me.
Not sure how they compare to BT in terms of price, as luckily my parents pay for our home connection, and I'm on a uni LAN most of the year.

I think Claranet is a monthly subscription AND you have to pay for the line use, but I'll check it out anyway.

Reality is every 0800 isp is bad news for gamming However i was using Bt connect on there surftime account on my isdn lines till i got cable. I would allways ping 40-50-60 every night, but the packetloss was sometimes bad. Like anyone else though when the game was important, or i wanted a game with zero'ish pl, i just used my pay for isp, with my pay by the min account

Before this CM I used demon - monthly fee to them and monthly fee to BT for the surftime flat rate - Very good ISP though more expensive than most. But you get what you pay for - an excellent ISP.
