Isdn 128k

Hi guys,

BT came around and fitted my ISDN box on the wall Thurs (7th), i couldn't wait to have a go so i tried it out with the USB cable. Well after playing with a win Modem and getting pings of around 300 on TFC, to start getting pings of around 150 i was well chuffed , But there was that message from Throdgrain about how he gets a better ping with his Asus TA and BT saying in there FAQ don't use the USB for playing online games. So i Phones up Solwise and orderd an asus internal ISDN card. Fri Jiffy bag plops thru the door have to wait tell after work to try it out. My pings are now sub 100 . Happy bunny is me!

Now how do i get 128k with the asus with the USB i just made the DUN a multilink, i tried this but it still connected at 64, or am i just being greedy?

TBH it doesnt make much difference for ping m8 ive never bothered

128K ISDN will not lower your pings just double your phone bill so its not worth it .

If you want to try it anyway make a new DUN and choose connect using the lower number of the 2 links from your asus card in the connect using option .Then go to multilink click on use additional devices and add the higher number option on your asus link options and that should do it .


Hope this makes sense as i no longer have isdn or an asus card so its well over a year since i did this .

Thanks Jungle, I think i understand but if you both reckon it make no diff. I won't bother and like you say it means i'd have to pay for two calls.

Im a bit chuffed atm too, cos Ive just been told that my line will now support ISDN, which is nice. So ive ordered it, cheaper than I thought tbh. But, now I guess I need an internal PCI isdn card??

yes m8 get one from www.solwise.co.uk an asus one they are great and cost like 35 quid or summat

there real quick delivery too. ordered mine on thurday afternoon arrived Friday morning. It was 35 quid with the postage.
