Is this possible Media center

Just wondering does anyone know if Windows Media center and Sky+ are compatible??

What sky really need to do is release a Sky Tuner card for PC's... *prays* Sure its possible? could be a slot in the PCI card to slot the Credit card thingy etc... But knowing sky that would be too sensible make lives for eveyone too easy

I'm not honestly sure. You may be able to get them working together but I doubt it's a particularly straightforward procedure, certainly not like setting things up with an improved tuner card. Windows Media Centre Edition already has a strict approved list of such tuners, which include freeview devices but no native Sky+ support that I know of. Googling suggests it may be possible but I wouldn't like to stake the ~£80 which Windows MCE costs.

You may want to try looking at alternatives which you can install in Windows and act like MCE only with additional functionality. After all, Windows MCE is itself just Windows XP with a special programme bundled to handle all additional features.

Yeh after doing some more research it seems that at the moment the only way to connect Sky digital to a computer is with analogue connections. Kinder defeats the points to be honest! It is possible but would require either two analogue cards or one card with two analogue inputs to have the watch one record another feature.

However there do seems to be dual freeview cards on the market so one can watch one program and record another, or alternativly just install two freeview cards.

Well since the smart home revolutions is starting, and the UK predicted to be a digital powerhouse maybe its time for all these companies to get their acts together.

But SKY are going to be releasing SKY HD in the near future http://hd.sky.com/
Which shows promise, but what Sky really need to do is realise that with the convergence of systems rapidly approaching if they don't relinquish their absolute control then they'll be left behind.

What I would like to see is a SKY digital tuner card that comes with its own Media center remote with sky buttons. But that would be an ideal world, and we dont live in an ideal world

Im pretty intrested in the smart home movement, and there are now alot of products out there that are now being released or going to be released that will make it possible,
