Help Is this any good?

Ive been thinking about getting a new laptop and im just wondering if this one here is any good? would i be able to play Daoc/other games on it or even if its reliable? any help gets rep!

The graphic card is shite to say the least, it probably won't run DAoC well at all unless you use the classic engine. The CPU is I guess average for a laptop in that priceclass. The only really "good" thing I guess is that it has 3gb ram, which seems pretty stupid considering you can't really do much outside of gaming that requires that much ram but meh.

Overall I'd say you should have a pass on it, you could get a way better desktop gaming PC for £500, that would actually play any newer games with no problems at all.

Steer clear mate, that processor is very out of date (T2*** series when we're on T9*** series now i think) and as someonelse said, that graphics card will struggle on games years old

Surely the first sentence he posted suggests he doesn't want a desktop machine and wants a laptop. Kinda like me asking for an opinion on a car for £10000 and being told I could get a great motorbike for that price. I probably could, but not what I was after.


I just read that back and it sounds well narky, but I'm tired and cba redoing it in a nicer fashion. You get the jist.

One more thing, don't discount buying refurbished models.

I bought my dad a laptop from buyit247.com and it was as good as new.

He didn't specifically say that he didn't want a desktop computer, just if this one laptop was good for games. Personally I think it's pretty stupid to buy laptops for gaming which is also why I put in an desktop alternative that is cheaper and actually can do what he asks.

I agree, i got one from PC World (QQ) And it runs DAoC, WoW, Guild Wars most mmo's like a dream.


Get a desktop, i'll be getting a desktop soon for WAR, since this wont handle it

If you must have a travel gaming PC I would actually suggest buying something cheaper and just adjusting your travel game habits instead.

There are alot of awesome games that runs fine without a graphic card(as I've already said before on this forum, Crusader Kings, Europe Universalis, Victoria, Hearts of Iron etc. are in this category with literally games that can go on for weeks or months).

I can honestly say I've never been tempted by a PSP, am I missing out?

My original Gameboy was ftw. Nicked a Sega Gamegear off the kid down the road for a bit too, it was gash.

I haven't actually owned a console, handheld or otherwise since the NES so I wouldn't really know

It does have GTA3 and Vice City tho, so I guess it can't be that bad?

psp is awesome, i wanted one it does internets too, movies and stuff.
was cheap in japan as well 26000 yen. 260 dollars, you go figure!
