You can't do that ingame, some people use external programs for that.

Yes well as other people stated before... if it's BORING to you and you are a MACROER .... DON'T DO IT. Leave it to people who don't mind sitting there and clicking buttons. I feel they are more deserving of getting people's business than those who use macros.

Damn all the post farmers who come just to say "its boring", its part of the game, and we do it for good reasons, mainly to make lots of cash for ourselves, keeps and relics :p but also to keep our realm in top knotch armour and weapons.

So i suppose its boring owning 99-MP armour and weapons is it? Stick to your epic and dropped gear then!

Macro'ing is laim, end of story, if you are for it, bet you also like playing games like UT2 and CS against a team of aim botters? Bah.

well honestly i got 0 points on all my chars in crafting and ppl who get excited over sitting several hours pushing a singel button + buying stuff to make stuff ... and think its fun and rewarding well crafting might be a part of the game but im not gonna start crafting. I do like ppl who do craft tho and how they did get that 1000+ doens't really bother me.

I agree to everyone, specially being a lgm WC myself it so stinks having alot of macroers getting there in a day or three while i spent weeks and weeks.

A cool solution though ; make the merchants walk around town randomly sometimes ;)

when i craft, i dont wanna stop to answer every fucktard who asks for a price tbh.

i ignore everyone except rl friends when im crafting.

On another note, i couldn't care less if other people wanna macro, as long as they aint disrupting my game with cheats, they can do w/e they like.

That's actually a really good idea. It'd only get rid of half the problem, but it is a start.

As for non macro'd crafter flaming in here. What the hell for? I don't talk much whilst I'm crafting. Like most non cheating bastard crafters I like to do other things. The difference is I am doing the crafting the legal way, and at least at my keyboard long enough to see if I have any /sends, or if anyone needs a hand.

It is absolutely ridiculous that I've had to /level a tailor up for my armour crafter and other armour crafters in my guild due to the sheer amount of people who are blatently macro'd. Yes, it is impossible to prove without going over to the persons house, but it doesn't make any harder to spot and it doesn't make it any more justifiable (I can't actually believe some people are arguing "you can never prove it so stfu!11").

At the end of the day, macroing is STILL A CHEAT. There is NO justification for using it. I can't say it enough, but if you can't be bothered to craft within the game parameters or think its boring.. DON'T DO IT!

/slight OT rant in my own thread based on some of the replies:

I totally agree with Cadiva I have to say. She's spent a lot of hard time and effort getting here AC'er to LGM just to find she's pretty much restricted to studded armour because she can NEVER get a tailor to actually reply. I'd say that's down to the sheer amount of macro'd tailors, but I'd also say that tailors who just refuse to even reply to lining requests need to adjust their attitude and realise that AC'ers have a MUCH harder time getting to LGM and are dependant on tailors for half their trade. Think of the realm rather than "Ahh feck em, I can't be arsed helping them out by making something I can still skillup on/ make a small profit on."

Again, I'm glad I have my own tailor now, but I'm still peeved off I needed to level an entirely seperate tradeskill due to macro'ers and now, apparently due to the occassional real crafter who just won't make the linings.

i normally do turn every chats of myself when i craft, only got broadcast chat up.
because i find it quite annoying that i get shit loads of PMs all the time about ppl asking me what im crafting.

Not a flame in any way here more of a question. If you find it annoying people asking you what you're crafting, then why are you a crafter in the first place?

Or do you never actually intend to make anything for anyone else other than yourself?

Like I said, not a flame just wondering why you'd be a crafter and not want anyone to know what type of stuff you craft.

it can only get worse with housing, because then people can recluse for a few days with all the merchants, then suddenly be lgm,

macroing, I don’t agree with it, but considering the stupid way the crafting system is implemented in daoc I can see why people might do it,

I mean the macoer still has to get the money ect to fund it, they just don’t want to waste there wakening hours pressing buttons mindlessly and it is a lot of time.

And really, really really really irritating for LGM armourcrafters like myself when I ask in /b if there's a tailor can make me some raw leathers and I get a resounding silence despite the fact there are at least 5 or 6 people 'sat' at the grandmaster merchant.

That has hardly anything to do with macro'ing.
I have both a LGM armorcrafter and a tailoring char, but I generally ignore such requests since if the tailor is logged in at all, I'm using it for crafting of my own :)

As a side note, if any armourcrafters need some tailored parts, you can message me in-game and I'll sort you out, provided I'm not on a guild hunt or such. Although I have hundrds of alts, so it's probably best to ask anyone i nGoV if I'm online.

to all the people who have no problem with those crafters that use macros to skill up...

these folks are cheating, plain and simple. they are using unfair means to 'level up' quicker and with hardly any effort or indeed thought.

if you have no problem with macroing, would you have any problem if some hacker just decided to hack into his account to get all his toons to LGM status? dunno if this is possible, but the result is much the same thing.

i also wonder if you would have the same attitude is there was a way to macro leveling in pve...somehow i doubt it and you'd be screaming "CHEAT! BAN!" along with the rest of us.

but who cares about crafters eh?

Getting a bit peeved off with the amount of /afk crafters in Haggal. You can /send them messages all day long without a single reply, even though they move to and from the merchants like clockwork, and return to the exact same spot they started in.

Is there any way to report the cheating bastards? I heard that Zargar occassionaly goes and tries to "talk" to crafters in the prime locations to catch them out (on Pwyrd). Couldn't this be a more frequent feature on excal too?

Before the I get flamed by the pro- macro'ers: Yes I am pissed off off, yes I am jaded. I've had to craft the honest way on my tailor and ACer, so why the hell shouldn't someone else? At the end of the day, you stupid macro'ers ruin the crafting market for honest crafters by flooding the market with LGM's who never should have been crafters in the first place.

If you think that crafting is so boring, then simply DON'T DO IT. Leave it to those of us with the patience to do it.

Right now?

i've done some crafting like tailor (1159) and some others like 9xx SC, 6xx WC and such, every single point gained by pressing the button myself... and still i usually was "afk" while skilling up, just pressing the craft button once in a while when doing something else like cleaning my apartment, rvr'ing on other comp, watching a movie, reading a book etc etc..

while not concentrating on crafting i couldnt usually even read the chat (took wireless keyboard with me to sofa/bed/whatever, just could see when the window with the green bar closes) and thus used /afk and ignored any questions.

still i couldnt care less if someone uses a macro program, crafting sucks so bad... its not only boring but also you spend tons of gold and time just to realize others sell so cheap you have to take a loss if you want to sell anything.

in other words the macro user hardly gets any benefit in my opinion - having a lgm crafter is nothing special as anyone with some patience can get it legit as well, macroing wont reduce the cost and the macro user won't make any profit anyway (unless very lucky with MPs, but it will even out in the long run for sure). doing hinges using a macro would be a different story though :(
