You've worked yourself into quite a pickle there pandemic. Let's take a vote:
a) he admits he's wrong
b) he closes the thread
c) he rolls a caster
I pick B!

Erm, I thought we were talking about PURE casters here. The ones which DO have Quickcast and neatly sorted spell lists.
The other classes you mention have nothing to do with pure casters except for the fact that they can also cast spells, which savages can do aswell so following your logic:
GIV SAVAGES CLOTH ARMOUR AND 1000 HPS!

does that 57 also include the healers, shamans, minstrels, druids and bards that you mention in an earlier post?![]()
so ur saying a healer is a tank ? thats a new one for meOriginally posted by loxleyhood
Healers, Minstrels, Druids, Bards and Shaman are not casters.

Probebly the first question should be, Whats a caster ?
Is a healer considered a caster due to CC, Is a cleric considered a caster due to heal spells. Or is a caster something that has a sole purpose of inflicting damage to another player with the use of spells.
And then theres the next Q, Whats a tank ? Is a tank someone who has Det in the ra list ? Or it a toon who's primary form of inflicting damage and hand held weapon ?
Clear these up first, Then ask the origanal Question.
But...
Then you have problems of crossovers, If a healer is a caster, He could get all his rp's in tank groups. Thus swelling the caster rp tables but not actively being part of the cast set by killing with the use of spells.
Then you have frairs and Bards, These both can heal, But there primary damage comes from a weapon.

for the love of god, ofc healers, shamans, clerics, bards and druids are doing well, THEY ARE ESSENTIALS IN A GROUP!

jesus man, reroll to an sm or wizard and try to fg vs fg, GOOD luck. Evidence is the game itself, wtf is the point of this thread if you dont beleive wot other ppl said, just try yourself then and you will see. fs. And not in thidranki, at lvl 50... couse in thidranki casters are good, wizard + theurg duo was awesome experience for me there.
btw casters are the following (at least for me):
Midgard:
- runemaster
- spiritmaster
- bonedancer
Albion:
- wizard
- theurgist
- sorceror
- cabalist
Hibernia:
- eldritch
- enchanter
- mentalist
- animist

You just started putting nails into your own coffin mate.
Casters are cloth wearers with organized spell lists from which they can choose the level of the spell they want to cast. ( Healers / Shamans / Clerics etc are getting organized spell lists but won't be able to select the lowest level spell in a specline they've specced high in ).
You are counting support classes as casters - obviously skewing your entire 'proof'.
So - remove those classes from your statement and you have:
Wizard, Eldritch, Enchanter.
Whopdedoo.
You want proof?
Out of the top100 in the world - there are:
18 robed casters ( 20 if you call Valewalkers a caster )
26 determination tanks
6 non-determination tanks that I don't count as support ( thane, champion, valewalker )
49 support ( healers, end-regen providers, speed-providers )
That's roughly 1/2 support, 1/3rd tanks and 1/5th casters.
And to add to finbahr's list:
A caster can't attack when out of power, a tank can still do that - not to mention that endurance regenerates tons faster than power.
And before you say that a caster can attack if rooted - yes, they can, but not if they get root casted on them even when they are 'immune'.

nope i didnt role a savage and i didnt close the thread so ur wrong

so everyone is tanks ? thats bizzare
I never said you were a Savage, I was making a comment on your mentality.
This isn't a game of, "You make magic. You be caster. You hit things. You be tank." There are healers, stealthers and all manner of hybrids.
well as i said i simply split the classes down to tank or caster i was assuming people realised that with me quoting non cloth users as casters
Originally posted by bult
no1 ever claimed support chars was bad. Support and casters is NOT the same thing at all.
Well, theres your problem. You can't just split them, clean-cut, down the middle. The day a class with chain armour and 2k hits is a caster is the day hell freezes over.
:lol:Originally posted by Edlina
Uhm, you're actually meaning to say that whenever you heard anyone say that casters were crap in rvr atm you figured your 3 healers and 1 shaman (and skald? - minstrel is in your definition so....) in your group was part of those classes which people though were crap in RvR now? o.0
And *now* you post about casters not really being crap?
omg:lol:
uh no as i said i split all classes up into tank or caster reguardless of if their support, stealther, hybrid etc
Originally posted by Edlina
Yea, and by that you assume healers are casters and thus when people in game / irc /wherever said "casters are crap for RvR" or whatever, you never questioned them, and said that you liked your 3 healers and shaman in your group, and thus didn't think all casters were crap?
