To play .rm files without installing ANY RealMedia awfulness ?

Not that I know of. You'd've thought it would just be a codec that somebody would go right ahead and crack (or make available to the rm hating public, anyway) but I cry everytime I see the letters r and m next to each other after a ".". :(

well think media player calssic does. not 100% sure but it is free

Media Player Classic plays RM's and is free, unfortunately you need RealPlayer installed in order to play RMs in MPC. Still, it does mean you don't have to use the god awful software.

I just use an old version of Realplayer. Google it, theyre all hosted for you to dl.

Real player alternative. Looks like windows media player, but plays .rm stuffs. Looks like kippa linked to it :)
