Is it worth coming back?

Been away from DAOC for about 6 months and just skimming te forums it seems not much has changed, so in sensible non frothy terms is DAOC still worth playing?

If you left because doac sucked too much then dont come back before the release of ToA, RvR has not changed much we had some great battles after last relic shift but its back to normal now.

Yup, still overpowered classes, yup still gimp classes, yup still bug abusing radar scum but you can still get enjoyment out of it somehow (And still better than all the other useless shite on the market imo)

Depends why you left, if it was because you didn't like the game than no as nothing has really changed in the last 6 months, if it was for any other reason but you liked the game then yes DAoC is still the best of its kind out there.

Wait until 1.65 for next half decent patch although tbh I'm not sure it's going to make a difference really. ToA will be the next big change that will be worth coming back for, upto then I'm just saving money

All depends why you left really. personally i still get enjoyment from the game, not like i used to though, emain zerged by albs still, still fotm nooby mid groups running around, odins zerged by power leveled over powered infils and power lleveled rangers/shades. on the plus side thers, theres, theres, um, friends

all depends on why you left really, and what aspects you like. if you're keen on pve or are a casual player, not really worth it i think. if you like going out in big rvr battles none stop and raking in the realm points, that's probably all that's left tbh. from my point of view at least.
so on a personal view, i'd say no, not worth it. and Ravenbourne, i'm not going to delete my chars, as i put a lot of effort into getting them where they are, but my account will be closed very soon if that makes you feel better

I think syri's answer more or less covered it, am not a big zerg fan and from what I here neither are the servers! Think I will hold off till TOA is about, play a month and see whats what then.

This somehow insinuates that DAoC had something more at some point and now it has lost it, this is not the case though.

DAoC simply does not have alot of content, SI was a step in the right direction and ToA is also, and after they have added some very much needed content in the game, they will address the PvP issues that will rise with Frontiers, so yes up to now DAoC was pretty much only about RvR but things are changing and it seems without the game losing its focus on RvR.

Ofcourse in the end we must wait and see if these will be well though changes and also well implemented, but the future is promising.

Best to wait a few more months and see what crap-ups come about with the RvR expansion and see how they "fix" them.

Still hoping GOA will be bought out by a company who actually knows how to provide decent service, too.

As to the reason that the more Mythic does to the game the worse it gets.

Game was as best just before RA's went in.

And now that TOA come. The powergamers can take a relic with 2 FG or so.
Some hibs did it on a US server. Basicly those who didn't powergame and got to ML9 got no chance vs those who did.

And getting all ML and artifacts and lvl them takes ages!

So basicly a good game if you are a powergamer with a buffbot and a good guild.

I am talking from the RvR perspective. You may of course be more intrested in PvE and then TOA may be fun.
